LA protests
Kind of a different post today, I asked a Redditor who posted some original photography on Reddit if I could share their pics here and forward the rewards the post earns their way - they were cool with it. Here's the shots they had shared on Reddit of the LA protests.
The following shots are from June 8th 2025
This is kind of an experimental post, hadn't seen any posts about the protests on Hive so thought it'd be nice to share even if the pics aren't mine and I'm not making any rewards from this. The original photographer will receive a link to this post.

Nice shots, each photo with it's own story.
It doesn’t look like a peaceful protest, hopefully their voices are heard and things are resolved calmly.
I'm pretty sure the national guard is asking WTF am I doing here. This is not just protest, it's like a small war going on
Eye opening photos!!!
Very eye opening for sure!
Nice capture..
ACAB... All Cops Are Bastards..
Nice, very intense photos, yes, protests are a good posts and not much in here. Lovely of you to post his work here and get rewarded.
I shared protest photos a few weeks ago for reddit, not OC, just link preview images of protests, I like how they capture people's expressions, etc. https://ecency.com/hive-150301/@kur8/global-may-day-protests-2025
I have never been in a heated protest before and from the looks of these images I don't ever want to be in the middle of it🥶
Brings back sad memories of the protest in Hong Kong in 2019
Someone else I was talking to has drawn parallels between the US now and Hong Kong...
The Hong Kong citizens didn't win.
The Hong Kongers were against one of the, if not the worse authoritarian government in the world. Sadly they never stood a chance and many innocent people are still paying heavily for it.
LA is because one little worm has such an inflated ego that he can't contain inside himself. At least the local administration and courts has a sense of justice, and there is hope
Massive respect for sharing this with integrity it’s rare to see credit and value actually go to the original creator, the photos speak volumes, and this kind of post gives Hive a real human edge
Living this escenario everyday, feeling that fear in everyone hearts destroy me.
A lot of shit is happening around us from a man who even his family got inmigrants is disgusting.
Reclaiming a thing called "Supreme Authority" as a excuse for ilegal and cruel oppression is one of the firts and true face of Dictatorship.
We gonna keep fighting for who that can’t and ask for a due and legal process.
Hoping this situation gonna end soon because we got God by our side.
I Love the experiment, an applause ... Hard images, it looks like a war zone. And unfortunately, the incoherence of approaches makes the conflict more deep. I am Cuban and protest here is well repressed...
From the OP on reddit:
That seems more a civil war, I really wonder if it's all people protesting or just a niche... This will go soon forgotten now that Israel has strike Iran and a new war begins
Nice photos, the photographer should join hive 😅
Nothing struck me more than the stop feeding pigs poster.
The artist must join hive😂😂
The trump pig is artistic genius😂😂
Right place; right time, great snaps
Blablaeric was apparently also pointed out by the police... Great job by this photographer! Fearless! Applause!
It reminds me of the 1987 Farmers' protest in the Philippines. Some of them died. When violence broke out, security officials fired at the protestors. There is even video of them firing into a retreating crowd, and at least 12 people died, with some accounts citing 13 deaths. There were 39 protestors who received severe gunshot wounds, with 12 to 19 of them reportedly succumbing to their injuries at a later date. No military or police officers were killed that day. That was referred to as Black Thursday in the media at the time and today it is known as the Mendiola Massacre. It was different during the 1986 people power era that there was no bloodshed.
These photos are shocking. I've been able to watch the news and the protests are still going on.

There were protests in Turkey in recent months, but they weren't this heated. Governments are doing a lot of things that are upsetting people these days. I wasn't even aware of this; I need to watch the news more.

STOPBeen following the protests too but haven't seen much coverage on here. Good on you for sharing and making sure the photographer gets credit. More people need to document what's happening right now
It very sad and frustrating to see how society is divided at so many levels. So much hatred everywhere! 😔
@acidyo Greetings, nice to meet you. The protests over deportations are raging over there. There are many problems in many parts of the world. A big hug to you. Excellent photos.
Such a dumb riot full to the brim of absolute narcissists and opportunists. The flag waver rubs me the wrong way as a true narcissist. All American protestors are narcissists. Fact
We definitely need more of these types of reposts because, where I'm currently at—Boofhurst—anything and everything related to Reddit is banned 🚫📵. It’s frustrating because Reddit often has unique, firsthand content and discussions that don’t always get shared elsewhere. Sharing posts like this here on Hive helps keep 🌍 those important conversations and perspectives alive. Great to see original creators getting credit and rewards for their work, something that’s not always guaranteed on other platforms 🎨💰. Hopefully, more people will join in and share diverse content so we can all stay informed 🙌📸 and connected despite restrictions.
Every citizen has the right to protest peacefully, but this protest should not harm another human being.
What should the people do when the government harms peaceful protesters?
Thanks for sharing
I have not been around so I had not seen images of LA, sad pictures and they can happen at any place, any time
This world is becoming really frightening and unpredictable
que locura esas protestas en EEUU ojala consigan algo justo , un saludo desde Argentina.
very intense yet cool protest going on.. thanks for showing. i really like the last pic. 😉😎🤙
I have a friend near those parts and things are complicated.
I was surprised to see these photos and my first thought was I hope you're not there. We have a photographer in the Photography Lovers community who is shooting at protest, he has some posts on the protests in Louisville.
I know what's going on there but had no time to dig into it, so thanks for sharing these photos. Years ago I was part of a similar experience and although I only got one machine gun pointed at me, I can tell you it's not a fun experience 😬
This is serious Protest, and that is not the answer rather it worsen the issue. Tanks for bringing this to our notice
Protests matter. Arson and vandalism are counterproductive though. Some people always use any protest as an excuse to be destructive. Much of the violence is from government enforcers using the destructive fringe as an excuse to punish everyone, though.
In my own opinion, while looking in each photo, to witness, a situation like this, seeing fear in everyone's face is heartbreaking. I did not experience like this but I'm so sad looking at each photo. It's really disgusting to witness so much wrong happening in our society. I hope this will end soon in God's will.
Just by looking at those pictures, you can already know what the pictures want to convey. It's such an intense one. Seeing this pictures made me scared. I am so sad thinking of the people who are affected by this situation. Looking forward that it will end soon.
I'm working on a post about this latest flare-up, but since I fall outside the 3x5 card of usual public discourse, it takes time to sort and present my thoughts on the matter in a way that works here. Also, I feel a bit disconnected since I am closer to Canada than Mexico, but recent events in Spokane have added to the topics I should cover.
These images of the protest are tremendous, the one that caught my attention the most was the one of the pigs.
May God be with his hand and may everything be fixed soon.🙏
These are some really great photos. A lot to take in and consider with these protests/riots. Really appreciate you sharing here for us.
Well, I've also heard that away from the riots it was just life as normal. However, those pictures aren't interesting.
Having said that, I'm glad that those in LA are making their displeasure with the government known. Wish it had been peaceful or as I've heard, it was peaceful until someone decided to make headlines by sending in the troops.
Be interesting to see whether the USA decides to continue down their path or if judges and senators decide to flex their muscles.
Rewards sent to the photographer!
