Few years ago things were rosy for the inhabitants of Khala nation. The cost of food items and other essential services were much more affordable. They were living in the land of plenty. There was enough to eat, chew and drink in the land.

But as the global pandemic hit everywhere things began to change. Khala nation which is known for its consistent production of agricultural products could not even feed it's teeming populace let alone exporting to other places. They felt it was just for few months before everything will normalize. But that was not to be.

The pandemic created alot of laziness in people who were mainly consuming the on s they have in silos and forgetting that those were not replaced thereafter. When the curfew was finally lifted there was little or nothing to be eaten.

They went back to farm, few people really. But what they were producing was not enough. Coupled with that the economy collapsed. The politicians were not addressing the most important need but were busy strategizing on how to win elections - their second tenure in office. The people suffered. Hunger was virtually pressing on everyone's throat.

When the situation became worse the politicians decided to react, not by providing the needed tools for farming and encouraging everyone to farm; rather they called for external aid - their regional block who were looking up to them for massive exports decided to step in and help. Foreign bodies also came to their rescue.

That way a calamitous tale was averted. Foods were made available and with the people scampering for them many died in the process. The population was reduced, not by war or natural deaths but by human negligence and greed.

Today, the same attitude is persisting. Their throats have been massaged by the foreign foods which most of them are not even organic. They have become lazy and choosing to live a life dependent on foreign aids.
