Developing a mindset that stands out and is different from others is of a great advantage in various aspects of life. Though developing such mindset takes time and effort, It's not an act you can do overnight , it has to do with your time, dedication and the best state of affair which will test you to see if you can do better. Think of how a plant or flower grows, it needs the right quantity of water, temperature, fertilizer and protection from bugs and insects. But without these conditions, the flower won't grow but wither off.
Today, I'll be sharing with us some specific ways to getting a developed mindset. I mean I can't do it for you, but I can help you set the right conditions to set you on your way to progress but the rest will be up to you.😊

Today, i had a chat with my friends and i tried educating them on DEVIANT SUBCULTURES. These are (sometimes) inappropriate or appropriate actions that some persons take in the society. These actions are not actually seen as illegal but are not socially accepted. This can be drinking, smoking, getting pregnant before marriage,drawing of tattoos or piercings e.t.c.

SOME WAYS TO OBTAIN A DEVELOPED MINDSET

1. FOCUS ON THINGS YOU CAN DO AND NOT THINGS YOU CAN'T

   First things first, assumptions instead of reality it the first step to fuckups. Reality is not always very smooth as it seems, most time's, when you feel you've gotten everything all lined out and planned, they'll be something to come and mess your effort up. Assumptions are hypothetical and most time's end up to be false.

Everyone has different talents where they are perfect. But some persons tend to listen to others and as they say, follow their heart and do what they know they don't fit in. Growing up, my parents wanted time to be a science student, i was never focused on any science course but I knew i was more focused on art courses and when i tried to do as they said, i ended up almost the last person in class. The next term i switched to arts where i knew i was more focused on and was among the top 3(three).

Anything that's worth doing, is worth doing well. Stop trying to do what you can't probably because of pressure coming from various directions, find out what you're more focused on and make it better. Taking advice from others is not a bad step but when you know that these advices are not really going in line with what you love, try adjusting from such advises especially when you are very good at what you're focused on.

2. MINIMISE YOUR INTAKE OF ALCOHOL AND CHRIS DRUG ADDICTION

Just like i said earlier, i had a conversation with my friends on "DEVIANT SUBCULTURES" which are things that may be seen as very good to the society but is not illegal.
What i really wanted to say in this point was quit alcoholism but we all know that alcoholism is accepted in many societies today and is even one of the most selling products worldwide. Taking alcohol is not a crime but the excessive intake messes with the mind.

Drug and alcohol addiction are both mind altering substances and it's destructive to both our minds and system. I personally can't advice people to take alcohol even if it's just a sip. Not that I'm saying no one should take it ( because that will close down many prospering companies) but the excessive intake is totally not advisable.

A neighbor of mine who was once addicted to drugs decided to stop the act. It wasn't easy at first though as he was even admitted on some occasions. It's been over 6 months now he stopped this,not that he became extremely smart or stuff like that but he has a job now and he looks really healthy and good looking. His words are filled with more knowledge now that i wonder what would have happened if he stopped taking all those a long time ago.

3. STOP FOCUSING ON THINGS YOU CAN'T CHANGE

Focus is the main key to getting a developed mindset. Focusing on things you know you can't change leads you to nowhere. For example, everyone keeps complaining of the bad government in Nigeria for now but is there any development? NO. You don't like the elected president yeah!! But can you change the fact that he's still the president? NO. When you focus on things that you can't have immediate change or effect on, it only makes you feel effortless and unworthy most times. If you really want to develop your mindset, start here by focusing on the things at hand.

One thing is, when you focus on things that are far off your reach, you'll feel like you're not doing enough. For instance, you want to be a medical doctor but it may seem like a long journey considering the years and especially for a place like Nigeria with Asuu strike every year, you can start from the little step like gaining admission and working it out with the steps ahead.

Another distraction from having a developed mindset it social media. The oppression and feeling of not achieving anything is massive from the social media. Funny enough, most of these things are fake lifestyles which they use to make you feel bad.so,just stay focused on the things you want to do.
