Lessons from.movies
Hive reach out Prompt 64. My name is blemmy89. Our theme for the week is "Lesson from movie".
Movies have always been a part of me growing up as a little girl. I really love watching movies because I believe that movies are daily life situations that are being put into acting. Most times, movies are acted base on true life stories or base on life realities for people watch and learn.
Personally, I have learned a lot of life lessons early just by watching movies. Watching movies has shaped my decisions and choices in life in different ways. It has helped me to see life beyond the present and to also think long term.
I have learned from movies the dangers of keeping bad friends, the effects of alcoholism, the shame and frustration of being a school drop out. These and many more are the things I learned early in life from watching good movies.
In as much as movies teaches morals and impact life lessons, we must also note that there are movies that teaches vices and moral decadence. It it very important that we are mindful of the movie we watch both as adults and as children. Parents should make it a duty to supervise the type of movies their kids watch.
Due to my engagements as an adult, I don't always have time for movies as I use to. But one movie I watched in 2024 that stood out for me is a movie titled " A tribe called juda". This movie is full of lesson which I will like to share some here and how it has impacted on me.
In the movie, Jedidiah, who was the lead character has five children from five different men not because she is wayward but because of situations beyond her control. One day after recounting her experiences with these five different men that lead to her having 5 children for each of them, she made a statement and said "in everything, I will not bury myself, I am proud of my five boys".
This for me is a huge lesson because most times when life treats us badly, we tend to bury our heads in shame rather than fighting for what we truly deserve. Jedidiah in the movie was proud of her children and always stood for them in public even if she has to scold them privately.
Another lesson for me in the movie is love and unity, the five children love and cared for one another. Anything that affects one affects all. They all come together to fight and defend one another.
Another lesson from the movie which is vital for me is the fact that one of Jedidiah's husband took her place and submitted himself to the authority for a crime he didn't commit.
The movie has taught me never to give up in life, the power of love and the need to stand for the people I love .
