Walking for Crypto My First Week Testing Moonwalk
I just started testing out Moonwalk, and honestly, it’s way cleaner and more fun than I expected. The idea is simple: you put in a small amount of crypto for the week USDC or SOL and as long as you hit your daily step target, you get your deposit back plus a share of whatever other players lose by not completing their steps.
It’s basically a fitness challenge with a built in reward pool.
So this week, I threw in a few entries just to see how it works.
Nothing huge small tests like 0.02, 0.05, and 0.12 SOL. Enough to get the feel for it without stressing the wallet.
And the way it works is pretty straightforward:
- Hit your step goal each day → you survive the challenge.
- Miss even one day → you get eliminated and your deposit gets redistributed to the players who stayed consistent.
- Finish all days → you get your entry back plus your share of the winnings.
What I really liked is how it actually pushes you to move. You see the timer, you see the steps required, and you know there’s money on the table. It’s not like the typical “step app” that pays pennies. This one feels real because everyone in the challenge is actually staking something.
Right now I’m in multiple games some 5k step challenges and a couple of 10k ones. The streak page is clean. The stats section tracks your daily movement. You can literally see where your discipline pays off.
And the best part?
If you’re already walking for Instacart or just doing your Amazon Flex runs like I used to, this is basically free money on top. You’re already getting the steps. Now you’re getting rewarded for being consistent.
If anyone wants to try it, here’s my link. It helps me, and honestly, it’s a fun experiment even with tiny amounts:

This week is just a test run for me. I want to see how many games I can complete cleanly and how the payouts look compared to the entry sizes. But so far, the structure makes sense, the incentives are aligned, and the competition keeps you accountable.
If I survive all the daily goals this week, I’ll post the numbers entry amounts vs rewards so you can see if it’s worth it.
For now, I’m walking, tracking, and stacking the results.

STOPThis sounds really cool!!! Does it track steps using the phone or can you synch a fitness device? One of the main reasons I quit doing ActiFit (besides it contributing a stream of shitposts to the chain and only existing in McFarhat's database) was that I had to carry the phone around (or shake it to match my actual steps).
