The Metropolis...
I've been wanting to do a bit of night photography with my drone for a while now but over winter the weather hasn't been too good or when it has been ok, I've been at work so there's always been something that got in the way of me doing such a shot.
I'd had this idea for ages and wanted to do some long exposures at rush hour, not flying the drone at night is a whole different kettle of fish than to flying it through the day, there are more unseen hazards if you aren't sure of the location as to where you are flying from and to.
So to evade any hazards I took off on the back garden and flew the drone over the house as I walked around keeping an eye on it all the time, those little flashy lights are perfect at night, and so is the built in LED which gives off a lovely warm light that lights up the garden.
It was a little bit windier than I would have liked so some of the longer exposure shots came out blurred, but what did impress me was the quality of the shots that did come out of the DJI Mini 4 Pro, I was very pleased with the dynamic range, lack of noise etc. These shots wasn't done in the nightmode mode that the drone has built in, like all my shots, I just shoot fully manual, although I did have auto on shutter speed, so it's nearer to shutter priority mode.
*(A happy accident by moving the drone too early)*
I call this set of images "Metropolis", I'm certainly looking forward to shooting more nightscapes.
I really hope you've enjoyed this and thanks for reading.
All the best :-)
