Birdlife at the Lido
I walked down to the village lido this morning to see if we have any visiting birds. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything different. It's a bit sparce at this time of the year. However, the lovely male red crested pochard is still with us. As they are a bit unusual to see in these parts, their presence is sometimes due to escaping from perhaps a private collection or a deliberate release, but could just be a wayward visitor. He always swims with the mallards without any problem.
He doesn't look in any hurry to move on as he's been here for the past year and alternates between the village ponds.
The gulls were flying around and then dive bombing into the water.
There were some nice reflections on the water coming from the restaurant that is situated at the side of the lido.
I decided to leave at this point as the armada was coming. The swans tend to come up to you if you stop as they think you have food. Unfortunately, it was all gone, but I will be back down at some point.
