Hello, friends of @holos-lotus.

The title of my post is a bit contradictory to what I'll be doing here. However, it's the only way to get my message across to the community.

I tell you not to explain your philosophy of life, but to live it, because I'm convinced that your own actions should speak for you. Words are easy.

Anyone can put together a nice speech about honesty, resilience, or kindness. But those words, without actions, are just noise. Noise that, over time, becomes annoying and empty.

What defines who you are isn't what you proclaim, but what you do when no one is watching, when it's difficult, when it's hard. That's the only message people remember and believe in.

I know this because I'm a guitar teacher. Theory alone isn't enough to teach. I can explain finger positions, arpeggio theory, or how to do a tremolo for an hour. The student nods, but their hands don't obey. However, when I sit down with them and play, when I show them with my own hands how it's done, something clicks. They see the movement, the pressure, the fluidity. Then they repeat it based on my example. Practice is what truly teaches. Example is what inspires. You learn to play guitar by watching it being played, not just by listening to instructions.

That's living the philosophy of teaching: being the model, not the manual.

My students don't just see me in the classroom. They see me at concerts. They observe how I conduct myself in my professional life: how I prepare, how I address the audience respectfully, how I handle a mistake on stage without losing my composure, how I dress for the occasion.

These things, no matter how much I mention them in class, aren't internalized until they are observed. If I tell them "stage presence" but on stage I'm tense and rigid, my message falls apart. If I talk to them about passion but play mechanically, my words carry no weight. They learn more from my stage presence than from all my theoretical lessons combined.

And this extends beyond music. My behavior in society is what my children, my family, and my neighbors observe.

I don't tell my children to be honest; I try to be honest myself, even in uncomfortable situations. I don't give them a lecture on respect; I show them how I treat others with respect, from the waiter to a stranger.

They don't register what I say I am. They register how I act when I'm stressed, how I treat those who can't return a favor, how I keep my promises. That's the true legacy. That's the only philosophy that counts: the one you put into practice.

Explaining your philosophy is often a way to convince yourself or seek validation. Living it is a silent and constant effort. It's about daily consistency.

It's tiring because there are no shortcuts or excuses. But it's the only thing that, in the end, builds something real. I don't want to be remembered for what I said about life. I prefer that, if someone talks about me, they talk about what they saw me do. The rest is just talk.

Es un poco contradictorio el título de mi publicación respecto a lo que haré aquí en la propia publicación. No obstante, es la única forma de llevarles mi mensaje en la comunidad.

Les digo que no expliquen su filosofía de vida, que la vivan, porque estoy convencida de que deben ser sus propias acciones las que hablen por ustedes. Las palabras son fáciles.
Cualquiera puede armar un discurso bonito sobre la honestidad, la resiliencia o la amabilidad. Pero esas palabras, sin hechos, son sólo ruido. Un ruido que con el tiempo se vuelve molesto y vacío.
Lo que define quien eres no es lo que proclamas, sino lo que haces cuando nadie te mira, cuando es difícil, cuando cuesta. Ese es el único mensaje que la gente recuerda y en el que cree.

Lo sé porque soy profesora de guitarra. La teoría no es suficiente para enseñar. Puedo explicar durante una hora la posición de los dedos, la teoría del arpegio o cómo se hace un trémolo.
El alumno asiente, pero sus manos no obedecen. En cambio, cuando me siento frente a él y toco, cuando le muestro con mis propias manos cómo se hace, algo se activa. Ve el movimiento, la presión, la fluidez.
Luego él repite desde mi ejemplo. La práctica es la que enseña de verdad. El ejemplo es el que inspira. La guitarra se aprende viéndola tocar, no sólo escuchando instrucciones.
Eso es vivir la filosofía de la enseñanza: ser el modelo, no el manual.

Mis alumnos no sólo me ven en el aula. Me ven en los conciertos. Observan cómo me comporto en mi vida profesional: cómo me preparo, cómo me dirijo al público con respeto, cómo manejo un error en el escenario sin perder la compostura, cómo me visto para la ocasión.
Esas cosas, por más que las mencione en clase, no se interiorizan hasta que se observan. Si les digo "tranquilidad escénica" pero en el escenario soy tensa y rígida, mi discurso se desmorona.
Si les hablo de pasión pero toco de manera mecánica, mis palabras no tienen peso. Ellos aprenden más de mi actitud en el escenario que de todas mis lecciones teóricas juntas.

Y esto se extiende más allá de la música. Mi comportamiento en la sociedad es lo que observan mis hijos, mi familia, mis vecinos.
No les digo a mis hijos que sean honestos; trato de ser honesta yo, incluso en las situaciones incómodas. No les doy un discurso sobre el respeto; les muestro cómo trato con respeto a los demás, desde el camarero hasta un desconocido.
Ellos no registran lo que digo que soy. Registran cómo actúo cuando estoy estresada, cómo trato a los que no pueden devolverme un favor, cómo cumplo mis promesas.
Esa es la verdadera herencia. Esa es la única filosofía que cuenta: la que se ejecuta.

Explicar tu filosofía es, a menudo, una forma de convencerte a ti mismo o de buscar validación. Vivirla es un trabajo silencioso y constante. Es la congruencia día a día.
Es cansado, porque no hay atajos ni excusas. Pero es lo único que, al final, construye algo real. No quiero que me recuerden por lo que dije sobre la vida. Prefiero que, si alguien habla de mí, hable de lo que vio hacer. El resto es literatura.
