Fiction#1......Broken trust.
Trust is what people cherish so much in a relationship but once it is broken, it is very difficult to trust again. That was the case of my Cynthia and Gloria.
Cynthia and Gloria had been friends from childhood. They were more than friends, they were like siblings. They share laughter, go for adventures and they share secrets together but one day misunderstanding crept in and everything changed.
It started as a play, but gradually generated into something else. Cynthia was only joking with Gloria but she took it the wrong way. They exchanged hurtful words at that moment because it was at the heat of the moment. The conversation ended abruptly and they thought they would talk things out later, but days turned into weeks and weeks into months.
They did not talk to each other for months and their silence grew. One day Gloria was passing by the street, she heard some of the secret conversations she shared with her friend in the mouths of others, she felt betrayed, hurt and confused. She decided to confront Cynthia.
“Why did you share my secrets with others, is it because of the little misunderstanding we had?”
Cynthia's response, "You're overreacting," you are pouring fuel on the fire. Gloria's eyes welled up with tears as she felt her trust shattered into a million pieces.
"Overreacting?" Gloria's voice trembled with anger and hurt. "You shared my deepest secrets with others, and you think I'm overreacting?"
Cynthia shifted uncomfortably, realizing too late that she had made a grave mistake. "Gloria, I...I didn't mean to hurt you. It just slipped out in a conversation."
Gloria's laughter was bitter. "Slipped out? You shared intimate details about me with others, and it just slipped out? You're supposed to be my friend, my sister. I thought I could trust you with anything."
The realization hit Cynthia like a ton of bricks. She had been so caught up in her own problems that she hadn't thought about how her actions would affect Gloria. She saw the pain and betrayal in her friend's eyes, and it broke her heart.
"Gloria, I'm so sorry," Cynthia said, tears streaming down her face. "I was wrong to share your secrets. I know I hurt you, and I'm truly sorry."
Gloria looked at Cynthia, searching for answers. She wanted to know why her friend would betray her trust so deeply. But as she looked into Cynthia's eyes, she saw the sincerity and regret. It wasn't enough to erase the pain, but it was a start.
"I need time," Gloria said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need time to process everything and figure out if I can ever trust you again."
Cynthia nodded, understanding. "I don't blame you, Gloria. I don't expect you to forgive me overnight. I just hope that someday, you'll be able to trust me again."
The two friends parted ways, both knowing that their relationship would never be the same. Trust had been broken, and it would take time, effort, and commitment to rebuild. Only time would tell if their friendship could be salvaged.

Broken relationships can be fixed, but where trust is broken, it takes time, energy and a lot of work to fix it. From the way their conversation ended, I know it would take Cynthia and Gloria a while to get back again.
Yes dear. Thank you for reading.
