When Distant Bombs Feel Uncomfortably Close
War is not something good and not a thing we should pray for because today's survivors can become tomorrow's victims, and this is the current situation of our current world.
Though I have never witnessed one, and I pray not to experience it in my lifetime, and inasmuch as I try to stay away from related news like war, anytime I open my X, it is always filled with some of these terrible headlines, such as city bombing, missile strikes, and cities turning into dust overnight. Here in my country, writing this and far from the war frontlines, though it sounds distant, yet it doesn't at the same time.
When I see the ongoing wars—Ukraine vs. Gaza, Iraq vs. Israel, and America—the first thing that comes to my mind is not the type of weapons that are being used but the innocent people who are involved and are just planning to go about their normal daily lives, but unfortunately, war happened to them. Situations like this has really affected the world at large most especially the economy of the world and looking at the currently ongoing war, I have seen how it will affect some places because Iran supplies oil to some surrounding counties like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and even China, Yemen and to be honest, most of this countries are going to suffer shortages of oil and some companies might fold up which will lead to staff and workers being laid off and you know what this means, a lot of people and family will also suffer from it which might lead to starvation.
Sometimes, when I see situations like this, I wonder if some of these leaders know the value of life or if they are just showing off their powers and who has the best war power. War may start very small, but the impact affects a lot of people, and it is greatly felt. I am not saying that I have the full knowledge of how politics works globally, but all i am saying is that we, the common people, always want the same thing: a place to put our head, somewhere to work, food to eat, and a peaceful environment with no war.
But to be honest, I think there is no peace in the world because some people do not attach importance to, let alone value, the lives of people; all they want to show is their power. Until we start valuing human life, humanity will continue to fight against each other, and that is the thing I understand.

The real problem here is that we have leaders that are egocentric and selfish. They always apply such in everything they set their minds to do. It's a pity!
Just a big pity. Most are just power drunk
