When Work Finally Stopped Following Me Everywhere #281
Have you ever been in a workplace where you work all day, from the time you get to work right till closing time, and even when you get home, you still have work that you need to attend to, even on weekends? Yes, I have also been in that situation where even when I am inside my room, I still have my head outside.
My day never really ended until I decided to start working from home, though the nature of my work requires long hours of work, most especially when the project is big and the clients are in need of the work very fast. On those dates, I get to work early and leave late, and I get home very exhausted and still feel like I'm not rested. I and my sister would be having a discussion at that time, but my mind is far gone and thinking about how to finish what I have at hand before the deadline and plan ahead for the next stress.
But at the moment, I won't lie because, in a good way, things feel slower and calmer. No headaches because I wake up and do my things with ease as scheduled. Nothing like supervision from a boss, zero pressure, no rushing up and down to beat time. I attended to things that I needed to attend to and then rested at the right time without the fear of workload. I have time to talk with my guys, time to attend to my personal needs, and even time to chill out and hang out if need be, though I don't really like going outside like that.
Yes, the stress has reduced, and sometimes, too, I have designs that take extra time and attention. And I find it difficult to maintain the balance at times. But still, I always find time to close myself off when necessary, time away from my phone and PC, and maybe step outside, take a stroll around my neighborhood, or just remain in my compound receiving fresh air as I watch the movie Sky.
Though that didn't solve all the problems because working from home, most especially in the country where I am from, also comes with some disadvantages, like no constant light, especially for the type of work I do. But still it gives me a lot of chances to do a lot of things aside from work, work, work, and that alone gives me inner peace to see my own life, not just a guy trying to survive the busy day throughout the rest of the week, month, and year.
Thank you for reading.

I felt this, especially the part about your mind still being “outside” even when you’re home. It’s great that working from home has given you more peace and space to breathe, even with the challenges. Finding that balance really makes a difference.
Yes ooo. The mind is never settled. And nothing compares to working from home, though not all might like it, but it comes with peace.
Thanks for stopping by and for this beautiful comment.
