Staying Long Enough for Something to Grow
It's quite surprising, we live in a world where what everyone wants is quick change these days and I've been seeing it everywhere and if I'm to be honest, I've even felt that's odd to also want things fast. I want the money to come fast, we need the love to come fast and if things didn't work out immediately, we are willing to move on to the next, like it never mattered.
We have been gabbling with our time, life, hoping that we'll just get that lucky break and it will become an overnight success for us. There is no atom of patience for us again, no roots.
We are just waiting for the next big thing, so I've watched so many people jump from one place to another, starting and never staying long enough. Although at first it looks exciting from the outside, but it also feels nauseating and we became so tired. We treat our relationship the same way. If we are in a position where it gets so uncomfortable, we are just leave. We are not ready to work things out to understand each other.
This is important. If it reached a time where we need to put in the work for good, we are just so easily willing to swipe and walk away. We just neglect people like cats, hoping the next one will be more easier or more understandable than the rest. But even if it is easy, it doesn't mean that it is the right one.
Sometimes it just means that we are shallow and we are looking for someone that is as shallow as us to align with. I've noticed how fast people just talk, who always keep pushing for their mouths without care. They engage in so many conversations, which they are just trying to perform and to show off without connecting.
Everyone wants to sound smart, busy. They want to feel important. They want to become a celebrity. They want to be popular. They want that celebrity attention, but few want to sit down and listen. And fewer people want to be honest about what really counts. Then there is the travelling. People travel from city to city. Photos, stories.
I have seen how all these are just those moments that we just want to escape ourselves from reality, instead of facing what life truly is. I love to travel. But it has become what so many have chosen as an escape plan.
People are again searching for the world. They are just running from the responsibility at home. Because home requires facing yourself and putting in the work and taking responsibility. Home asks you to stay when leaving would be more better. Which makes you to run away from that responsibility.
What I began to learn is that changes too.
A word takes time. If we want to be loved, we need to be patient. We need to be at peace. Maybe we don't need another gamble. We don't need another fight, another voice. We just have to sit long enough with something that would really last. Something that feels like we are at home. And we need to be patient with that.
