What is one big decision you’ve made that recently changed something in your life?

For me, it was the decision to stay calm and stay happy no matter what life throws at me.

Lately, I found myself slipping into a dark place without even realizing it. Because of some sad events and happenings around me, I become a different person. Things I once enjoyed suddenly felt boring. I stopped caring for myself the way I used to. I was constantly tired, overwhelmed, and slowly sinking into depression.

But something changed,that helped me reset...

A close friend of mine lost 15 million naira in one day. Her entire business collapsed, she had loans to repay, people where coming for her, she had marital issues and eventually, she even ended up in prison. Yet through all that, she stayed calm. She stayed warm. She stayed hopeful. Oh you need to see her gisting and laughing.

When I asked her how she managed it, she said something that stuck with me: she said" I made the decision. I decided that I wouldn't let my problem drain me. And that decision kept me alive today."

So I made mine too.
I decided that no situation, no person, and no problem will dictate my peace or my joy. There will be problem, but I wouldn't let it affect my inner self.

In other to achieve this I became more intentional about a lot of things. I stayed busy with things I love, I watched what I eat and how I eat, I started reading books and listening to podcasts.

I become more selective with my friends, friends with good energy, and willingness to grow. I dressed beautifully to lift my spirit, I say affirmative words to myself and speak soft and kind words to myself.
I just try to create my own happiness with some conscious and consistent habits.
And honestly?

It has been one of the best decisions I made recently, I now feel lighter, softer and fresher.
My peace is intact, and my mood is no longer controlled by anyone or anything.

So, happiness isn't accidental, it's a decision you make that is backed up by daily actions. Don't let anything steal your joy.
