NAKUPENDA
Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, who has popularly been identified as CHÍKÉ is who i would like to describe as a Nigerian iconic song writer, singer and an actor who is most prominent because of his style of music. His soft Loving voice and his rich Lyrical content. The most satisfying thing about Chíké's music is that just like so many music artists classify their songs to either be religious songs, circular songs or perhaps traditional songs, Chíké's song does not have a specific targeted audience. His song is for everyone and can be played at anywhere, religious centers, traditional centers, clubs, marriages, only to mention but a few.
He made a song featuring another iconic Nigerian musician known with the stage name Ric Hassani which he titled "NAKUPENDA".
Etymologically, the word "Nakupenda" is Swahilian. Nakupenda in Swahili means "I Love You". Here it is seen that this word is used to express Love to your loved ones.
However Chíké took a little dimension in the artistic exploration of this word in his song. He took the step that suggests the encouragement of a daring spirit to chase or make a move towards a person who you Love and let them know. The song is just a true definition of, when you love someone, walk up to them and tell them that you love them.
In this song, Chíké expressed that signs (Green Light as some slang expressions may have it), are not enough to let someone know that you love them. Looking at a person or passing indirect moves on a person is not enough for someone to know that you love them. He asked some vital questions;
How will you know?
That i am the one for?
That you are the one for me?
If you don't say hello?
Just say hello!
The journey to that beautiful Love life and Love story can kick start today by walking up to that person you love and saying "Hello!" To them. When you say hello, they will definitely respond with a "Hello" or a "hi", and just like the movies, you will start that beautiful conversation and build on that to great things. Just as the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step, so can your beautiful love life start with just saying hello.
Everyone needs someone, someone who would truly love them for who they are and who they intend to be. Love is a beautiful thing and in the world such where we find ourselves today, only genuine love will help us to see through any situation.
Let Love Lead
