Powerless in the Haunted City.
Navigating the Tokyo underground without KK's powers required a focus on stealth and environmental awareness. The climb out of the creepy underground led to a construction site. The journey continued through the rain-soaked, haunted streets toward KK's apartment.
There was a male version of the Student of Misery on my way who was guarding some spirits. After taking him down using stealth, I noticed I could still absorb the spirits because I had the Katashiro with me, even without my core powers.
Shortly after, I encountered a female Student of Misery. I followed her quietly through the shadows and managed to take her down precisely, ensuring I wasn't detected by any other nearby threats.
Suddenly, I came across a Rain Slasher who was walking ahead. I started walking toward her, but she suddenly turned around and spotted me, immediately shifting the tone from a hunt to a chase.
The Rain Slasher started coming after me, so I began running backward to create distance. I hid behind a door and waited patiently until she eventually gave up the search and decided to head back to her patrol.
I had to play a tense game of hide & seek with her in that hallway. When the perfect moment finally arrived, I went out and took her down.
I only realized while writing this that I missed some arrows nearby that would have made this much easier.
Moving ahead, I noticed a Rainwalker knocking on a door quite peacefully. I crouched and approached him quietly from behind, taking him down before he could react to my presence.
I had to find a way out of the underground by using a ladder. I struggled for a moment to figure out the climbing mechanics, and at last, I managed to pull myself up and leave the tunnels behind.
After getting out of the depths, I realized I was at the construction site that a spirit had mentioned to me earlier. It felt good to be back above ground, even if the city was still crawling with ghosts.
My main goal now was to reach KK's apartment while navigating the haunted streets of Tokyo without any supernatural powers. I walked through the scary temple route in the heavy rain.
We'll continue in another post.

10 commentsExploring Tokyo without powers is like a suicide. This part made the gameplay much more tense. Stealth and careful movement are very important in this situation.
Yeah, that part really raised the tension. Moving carefully felt like the only safe option there.
Traveling underground in Tokyo without power is dangerous and will put him in a difficult situation. It is undoubtedly a difficult task when wet roads, dark nights and the fear of ghosts are combined when traveling in an underground area.
Appreciate the comment. BTW, I'm not in the undergrounds anymore, only open air now.
I noticed you mentioned missing those arrows, which happens to the best of us. At least the stealth approach worked out in the end, even if it took a bit more hide and seek than you planned.
True, it did turned into more sneaking around than expected.
It was interesting to find that Rainwalker just peacefully knocking on a door. It almost makes you wonder what they're looking for before you have to step in and neutralize them.
Haha yeah, seeing a Rainwalker calmly knocking like that felt strangely normal.
Reaching the surface and heading toward KK's apartment was a tense moment. You really took a big step forward in the mission.
Yeah, things definitely started getting serious there. I appreciate the kind words.
