Tenía mucho tiempo sin venir por acá y es que más que los Animes que consumo por trabajo, y algunas horas sueltas que gasto viendo Shogun o Yellowstone, no me da el tiempo para ver ninguna película y prestarle la atención que me gusta, de hecho con las series tengo el problema de que voy a tener que verlas nuevamente porque a veces estoy tan disperso que no me entero bien de las situaciones; Pero ver una buena película es algo que disfruto y que logra darme ese momento de tranquila ante toda la tensión que pueda tener acumulada, es por eso que hoy quiero hablar y recomendarte el último filme que vi y que realmente disfrute.

Aunque como ya dije veo películas para distraerme y relajarme, hay un género cinematográfico que disfruto mucho y es el Thriller, un género que se caracteriza por mantenerte tenso y dar giros inesperados en la historia, si bien no parece un estilo que evoque tranquilidad y relajación, exige mantenerte enfocado en la pantalla lo que me ayuda a no estar pensando en mil cosas más; A Diferencia del terror que me aburre por lo predecible que son las películas, con un Thriller bien escrito disfruto de esa tensión y de las buenas historias.

Although as I said I watch movies to distract and relax, there is a film genre that I really enjoy and is the Thriller, a genre that is characterized by keeping you tense and give unexpected twists in the story, although it does not seem a style that evokes tranquility and relaxation, it requires you to stay focused on the screen which helps me not to be thinking about a thousand other things; Unlike the horror that bores me by how predictable the movies are, with a well written Thriller I enjoy that tension and good stories.

Una historia bien contada me atrevería a decir que es un 80% de cualquier película, para contar una buena historia no necesitas grandes paisajes o tomas fotográficas increíbles, efectos visuales o escenas vibrantes de acción, considero que para contar una buena historia necesitas, un buen guión que cautive al espectador y unos actores que transmitan la emoción que la situación amerite.

The Devil You Know es una película de Estados Unidos, que cuenta con los dos requisitos de los que hable antes, para comenzar quizás por nombres no te hagan ruido, pero seguramente si buscas a Theo Rossi, Michael Ealy, Michael Beach u Omar Epps, seguramente sus rostros te recuerden a grandes series y producciones televisivas, actores que logran gracias a su experiencia transmitir precisamente lo que la situación en el guion amerita.

Es difícil hablar de un Thriller sin contar demasiado del mismo, pero para hacerles un resumen, esta es una historia que mezcla drama familiar con crónica policial, en la que se cuenta la historia de un hombre que tras una serie de problemas intenta reconducir su vida con el apoyo de su familia; Es una historia que nos hace preguntarnos, ¿Qué es hacer lo correcto? ¿A quién se le debe lealtad? ¿Es correcto encubrir con la intención de proteger?, y otra serie de inquietudes que nos va generando esta historia cargada de emociones y donde se evoca constantemente mensajes acerca de la familia, la religión, los vicios y malas amistades, y la confianza.

Estrenada en 2022 esta película se vio envuelta en polémicas debido a que aunque cuenta con personajes femeninos, en la misma, estos personajes suelen tener una actitud más pasiva y menos protagónica, lo que a ciertos colectivos les pareció una ofensa; Si bien la historia se centra en cuatro hermanos varones, la madre y las parejas de los mismos hacen acto de presencia pero en pocas ocasiones, y si bien algunos comentarios y actitudes hacen parecer que son mujeres sumisas, son interpretaciones de la cultura y la forma de ser de un grupo específico de personas. Llegar a pensar que por el personaje de estas actrices se considera a las mujeres sumisas y débiles, es igual a pensar que por el color de piel se considera a los afroamericanos delincuentes y violentos.

To think that because of the character of these actresses, women are considered submissive and weak, is the same as thinking that because of their skin color, African-Americans are considered delinquent and violent.

El simple mensaje de no querer perder a tu familia, de hacer lo correcto, de proteger a los tuyos como ellos intentaran hacerlo contigo, la pregunta de ¿Cuánto podemos aceptar?, en pro de proteger a los nuestros, sin romper nuestros principios, sin afectar la vida de otros o la nuestra, preguntas cuya respuestas depende de la percepción de cada persona, por lo cual en esta película algunos estarán a favor o en contra de las decisiones tomadas, dependiendo de la situación en la que se encuentren, la crianza que tuviesen y el entorno que les rodea; Por mi parte, nunca he logrado comprender a esas madres que lloran por sus hijos detenidos, que hacen protestas fuera de los centros de detención o que creen ciegamente en la inocencia de los suyos, sin embargo, esta película me hizo comprender que hay personas que legítimamente ven el mundo diferente y que tienen a la familia por encima de todo.

Otro mensaje de esta película es la religión y la presencia que tiene está en la familia, pero en esta ocasión más que centrarme en «El amor de Dios» y todos esos comentarios, decidí intentar comprender como existen miles de familias que se abrazan y consideran que Dios está en esa conexión que tienen entre los miembros de dicha familia, para ellos lo correcto es hacer todo lo posible por mantener la familia unida, y apoyándose entre sí; Esta no es una película de buenos y malos, considero que en esta película todos comenten errores y más que molestarnos en defender a unos u otros, esta película te invita a entender que todos cometemos errores y dichos errores tienen consecuencias graves, que más que arrepentirnos hay que asumir las consecuencias y continuar intentando hacer lo correcto.
