Spicy Peanut Candy
Holla amigos friends, I hope I find you well today. I'm sending greetings and love to you from Africa to different parts of the globe. Today, I bring to you another interesting and definitely delicious candy recipe from peanuts.This is prompted by the weekly #hivetopchef #contest and for this week, it's on peanuts so I created something simple, yet delicious to enjoy. Only two major ingredients are needed for this recipe, but I believe it would be better with a few added spices.
Ingredients used are listed below;
INGREDIENTS
●1 and half cups peanuts
●3 and half tablespoon sugar
●1 teaspoon salt
●1 teaspoon garlic powder
●2 teaspoon chili pepper
●1 cup garri (to fry peanuts)
STEP 1
The first thing is to fry the peanuts for 15 minutes until the skin is brown, take it off heat, and seive out the garri and cool peanuts before pealing off the skin.
STEP 2
Blend peanuts but leave a handful for extra crunchy toppings.
In a pan, add sugar under low heat, stir, and add 1 cooking spoon of water. When it starts to boil, add the spices (salt, garlic, and pepper). Add blended peanuts and continue to stir and cook on low heat until peanuts releases it natural oils.
After 5 minutes, take it out and flatten to cool off. I used my chopping board for this and kept it in the refrigerator to cool off.
I used a knife to cut them into biteable sizes and it was ready to enjoy.
Thanks, @qurator @hivetopchef, for this week's theme. I'm glad that this contest is helping me become better at exploring new recipes that make me better at each trial. I'm hoping to share more delicious and interesting recipes with you all.
Hugs from your friend @kachy2022 ♥️♥️❤️
