The fact that I don't give attention to dreams, whether good or bad, is a sweet lifestyle for me. It's even funnier how people sieve out the good dreams and work with them while they discard the bad ones. What makes you think that if the good dream becomes real, the bad ones won’t happen? 🥱

Some years ago, when we were still in the village living with our parents in the family house, I had a dream...

My elder sister, whom I am next to in age, a very beautiful lady with a light glittering complexion and an exact look like that of Ghanaian actress Nadia Buhari, walked into my room in a very skinny dress revealing all her beauty, and at that moment, I fell in love with her. No, it wasn't sexual love, and it wasn't non-sexual love either. I just couldn’t keep off my admiration, and to spark it more, she came to give me 600 naira from a sale I helped her make earlier in the day. That gift sparked up the chemistry even more, and when she noticed how I was staring at her, she jokingly picked a shirt from the chair, threw it at my face, and jokingly walked away.

I sat down, thinking deeply about the possibility of dating her and probably marrying her. I thought about movies I had seen where siblings who were so much in love with each other got married, and the family tradition didn’t interfere because the love was strong and thick. With the way she threw the shirt at me, I just concluded that she had the same feelings for me, but the challenge was how we were going to work it out since she was older than me. My thoughts were just hitting everywhere, and I was smiling all through with lovey-dovey imagination, and I didn’t think far when I heard the shout of my native name by my dad from the parlour. Fear gripped my mind.

“Did she go and report me to dad?” my mind raced with thoughts. I was still thinking when the call came stronger and louder, and as I answered, “Sir!” I saw myself wake up from the dream.

“Thank God it was a dream.” I was happy, and I, who don’t believe in dreams, started wishing such a dream would never come to reality, because if it happened, my family and extended family would drag me to the mud. Lol
