Spending a Different Sunday

Spending a Different Sunday
The best days for me to go out and unwind are Saturdays and Sundays; usually, during the week I check the listings for a cultural event happening in our city that weekend, and I plan to go with my family. But this week was different; on Saturday I was invited to a get-together on Sunday, and I accepted.
I was so grateful for this thoughtful gesture. I had the opportunity to visit a restaurant that brought back so many memories because the entire place evokes so much history through the objects it contains. Upon entering, I didn't expect anything and began exploring the space, taking some pictures along the way. The place was once a family home, but it was later converted into a restaurant, where every space was transformed and every corner is enhanced by the display of antique objects that bring to life stories of bygone eras; you could say it's a small museum.
This place brings together objects that belonged to our grandparents and parents. I go back to that time and remember enjoying some of them when I was young. And in my teens, I was able to handle them; because of this, seeing them makes me emotional, but it also brings back memories of my loved ones.
Those sewing machines, with their metal frames, were the livelihood of many families, women who tirelessly sat working for factories, laboring day and night at home after finishing their household chores. And then, tenaciously, they learned to mend, alter, cut, and shape clothes for their families.
It wasn't all work; there were moments of leisure; listening to music was a pleasure, and big parties were held at home with the modern record players of the time. But if you wanted live music, there was no shortage of maracas and a cuatro, accompanied by a straw hat.
Now it was time to enjoy a delicious beef stew. The house has two floors, and we decided to go up to the terrace. The dining area had a very welcoming, family atmosphere, with rustic decor and antique suitcases. The ambiance was pleasant and very cool thanks to natural ventilation. I tried the soup; it's said that all the food was excellent.
After finishing my delicious lunch, I continued documenting every object from the past. I still had the cameras, the typewriters, the irons, the floral decorations on the walls, the small collections of toy cars, and the telephones that looked like they came straight out of a movie. And I had the opportunity to explore the other floor.
Well, friends, I'm signing off; this Sunday experience was spectacular. I ate delicious food and enjoyed a place that brought back memories. I wanted to share it with you.
I think I'll be back.
