BOOKS!! FINALLY…
I’ve finally decided to invest in books again, and I am so excited to see where this journey takes me. Reading has always been one of my favourite thing to do, but lately, it feels like I have been slowly losing interest— Mostly because I haven’t been able to get affordable hard copies. Ebooks aren’t really my thing.
Still, I didn’t want my love for reading to slowly fade just because books were expensive. Ever since my only known thrifted bookstore closed down, I found myself silently giving up on reading. But recently, something reignited that spark— and I just longed for hardcovers.
I took it upon myself to start looking for affordable thrifted books again, not just for me but for others who also struggle with ebooks. I searched online, but everything I found was expensive. Luckily for me, I came across a small local store and got a few books to start with.
One thing about thrifted books is that you would rarely find recent books—but that’s not a problem for me, I am ready to love those old books again. If I ever want to read something more recent, I’ll just get the ebook version.
I was literally giggling with excitement when I got this books—I got 9 fiction books and 3 non-fiction books. I am not someone who read non-fiction books but I challenging myself to complete one. I got all these pretty books for about $11 and they were in a neat condition.
This inspired me to start my own thrifted book business— to make affordable hard cover books readily accessible to other book lovers like me. I named it Pagely, and I am beyond excited to reignite a lover for reading in others. It is a very fun business for me because if no one ends up buying from me, I can still enjoy the fun of reading them.
So far, I have gotten two orders, both were from some of my past favourite books, it was little hard to let them go but I like to think someone else will love them just as much. I have also gotten people willing place an order but distance was a bit of a barrier. Still, I am anticipating with enthusiasm for what’s ahead.
Right now, I am reading from my new books, yay!.. for fiction, I am reading Born in the Wild by Nora Robert, (I have so much missed Nora books, it has been long since I last read her books). For non-fiction, I am reading Atomic Habits, I started the soft copy sometime ago but I just couldn’t get through it, so, I am giving it a fresh start.
All of this feels so beautiful to me, I can’t wait read more and share my reviews!
