Hace un tiempo dije que iba a intentar balancear mi trabajo y dedicarle un tiempo a mi contenido por acá. Lo cierto es que eso se dificultó un poco (bastante 😅). Principalmente por el trabajo, pero también porque he estado haciendo otras cosas. Este es un post de actualización, porque sinceramente extraño estar por aquí. Así que acompáñame a ver lo que ha sido mi vida en el último mes y algo.
A while ago I said I was going to try to balance my work and dedicate some time to create my content here. The truth is, that's been a bit difficult (quite a bit, tbh 😅). Mainly because of work, but also because I've been doing other things. This is an life update post, because I honestly miss being here. So join me as we see what my life has been like for the past month or so.
Pues el trabajo sigue siendo demandante. Cuando estás en una gran corporación es increíble la cantidad de trabajo que tienes a diario. En los tres meses que tengo allí creo que he tenido solo un par de días tranquilos. De resto, siento que el tiempo no me alcanza para hacer todo lo que necesito hacer, incluso cuando me quedo horas extras. A veces me estreso bastante, pero intento sobrellevarlo lo mejor que puedo. Y una de las estrategias que he implementado es comenzar el gimnasio. Si le hubiera dicho a la Mandy adolescente que en algún punto de su vida estaría feliz de ir a entrenar no me creería, pero es la realidad. La hora que paso en el gimnasio me sirve de desconexión y me ayuda mucho a gestionar mis emociones. Me esfuerzo mucho y hay ejercicios en los que me quisiera morir 😂, pero me siento satisfecha luego de ir. Tengo poco tiempo, pero es un hábito que definitivamente no quiero perder.
Well, work is still very demanding. When you're in a big corporation, the amount of work you have every day is incredible. In the past three months I've been there, I think I've only had a couple of quiet days. Otherwise, I feel like I don't have enough time to do everything I need to do, even when I work overtime. Sometimes I get pretty stressed, but I try to cope as best I can. And one of the strategies I've implemented is starting going to the gym. If I had told my teenage self that at some point in her life she would be happy to go to the gym, that Mandy definitely wouldn't have believed me, but it's true. The hour I spend at the gym helps me disconnect and it really helps me manage my emotions. I push myself hard, and there are exercises that make me wish I would die 😂, but I feel satisfied afterward. I don't have much time there, but it's a habit I definitely don't want to lose.

Por otra parte, debo admitir que no todo es estrés en el trabajo. He tenido la oportunidad de conocer mejor a personas muy lindas que me acompañan la mayor parte del día, personas con las que también comparto tiempo de calidad y que han aportado cosas bonitas en mi vida.
Hace unos días, de hecho, celebramos el inicio de la navidad con una gran fiesta en la Torre de la empresa, y allí la risa y la comida no faltaron. También hemos compartido espacios fuera de la oficina, cosa que ha hecho que surja una linda amistad.
On the other hand, I must admit that work isn't all stress. I've had the opportunity to get to know some wonderful people who are with me most of the day, people with whom I also share quality time and who have brought beautiful things into my life.
A few days ago, in fact, we celebrated the start of the Christmas season with a big party at the company, and there was no shortage of laughter and food. We've also spent time together outside the office, which has led to a lovely friendship.

También he tenido momentos bonitos junto a mi grupito de amigos de siempre. Nos hemos visto varias veces, hemos chismeado, reído y como siempre, hemos pasado un tiempo lindo juntos. Primero fuimos de visita a la casa de la señora del grupo (porque es la única casada). No había ido antes, así que fue un rato súper agradable dónde también aproveché de arreglarme las uñas. La siguiente oportunidad, fue una pijamada de navidad donde decoramos galletas y por supuesto, también chismeamos bastante. Esa parte nunca falta 🤭. Espero volver a verlos pronto porque definitivamente pasar el rato con ellos recarga las energías.
I've also had some lovely moments with my group of friends. We've seen each other several times, gossiped, laughed, and, as always, had a great time together. First, we visited the house of the mrs. in our group (because she's the only married one). I hadn't been there before, so it was a really nice time, and I even got to get my nails done. The next time, we had a Christmas sleepover where we decorated cookies and, of course, gossiped a lot more. That part is always there 🤭. I hope to see them again soon because spending time with them definitely recharges my batteries.

Creo que lo que más he priorizado últimamente es tener tiempo para mí, para estar sola conmigo misma y simplemente descansar. Lo que más me doy reconocimiento es que he logrado sobrellevar muchos cambios personales en poco tiempo; muchas cosas han cambiado en los últimos tres meses... Aunque por supuesto hay días abrumadores, lo cierto es que sigo adelante, o al menos lo intento.
Ahora soy una de esas personas trabajadoras, que espera con ansias los viernes para poder llegar a casa temprano y dormir mucho hasta tarde al día siguiente. Ah, y me llevo como recompensa un dulce, como premio por sobrevivir a una semana más ✨.
I think what I've prioritized most lately is having time for myself, to be alone with myself and simply rest. What I'm most proud of is that I've managed to cope with so many personal changes in such a short time; so much has changed in the last three months... Although, of course, there are overwhelming days, the truth is that I keep going, or at least I try to.
Now I'm one of those hard-working people who eagerly awaits Fridays so I can get home early and sleep until late the next day. Oh, and I treat myself to something sweet as a reward for surviving another week ✨.

16 commentsWhen I was in the corporate world, finding balance between work and personal life was crucial. It was really hard to navigate the demands of career while ensuring personal fulfillment. Just like you, I used to render overtime, that even my weekend life was compromised.
Hardworking people deserve to rest, too. Make the most of your rest days as enjoyable as possible. Stay safe and healthy. 🙏
I feel you! I found myself working even on weekends, but this last one I decided I wouldn't do it. I definitely need those two days to just do nothing related to work and focus on my well-being and rest. Sometimes I feel like I could be using my time to be productive, but I'm forgetting that doing nothing is also good sometimes.

Priorizar el tiempo para cuidarnos y mimarnos un poco, es lo mejor que podemos hacer para no caer en la locura y estrés del trabajo. 😅

Quien diría que la vida después de la Uni de pasar a no tener tiempo solo cambio de motivos xD. Pero me contenta que hayas empezado en el gym, sin duda es la mejor forma de drenar y desconectarse un poco de lo demás. Y por supuesto que hay que planificar el reencuentro de año nuevo 😼🔥
Sí, lo que cambió fue el motivo, pero la falta de tiempo y el estrés están intactos 😂. El gimnasio me ha ayudado mucho, aunque después ande quejándome de que me duele todo jajaja.
