Parc Pheonix
One of my daughter’s favourite places in Nice is the beautiful Parc Phoenix. Located near the western entrance of the city along the Promenade des Anglais, this park is a peaceful green oasis where families can spend time surrounded by nature.
Opened in 1990, Parc Phoenix covers about 7 hectares and combines a botanical garden, a small zoo, and a leisure park in one place. The park contains more than 2,500 species of plants spread across around twenty themed gardens, including Mediterranean plants, succulents, aromatic herbs, and tropical species.
At the center of the park stands the impressive “Green Diamond” (Diamant Vert) greenhouse, one of the largest in Europe. It rises 25 meters high and covers about 7,000 m², recreating several tropical and subtropical climates with exotic plants, birds, and reptiles.
Parc Phoenix is also home to an animal area with around 2,000 animals from about 70 species, including exotic birds, reptiles, small mammals, and farm animals that children especially enjoy discovering.
For families, the park offers playgrounds, walking paths around a central lake, educational activities, and seasonal exhibitions related to nature and science. It has even received the French “Jardin Remarquable” label for its botanical importance.
