Weeding, Harvesting flourishing garden Veggies
Hello Hive
Finally finally it's time to harvest and enjoy fresh vegetables from our garden. My garden journey has been very slow this year due to the circumstances on ground. Alot is happening here that I find it difficult to stay focused. In the midst of the happenings still we need to feed that's why I couldn't totally abandon farming.
The beautiful part is that I am begining to find some balance now and hope that things will work out positively for the rest part of the year.
Good morning to my passionate gardener and friends onchain.
Yesterday we decided to both weed and harvest some fresh jute mallow for soup.
My neighbors and sister is usually one of the beneficiaries of the veggies I grow in my garden. Little as the place is, it often provided 3-4 family with their supply of veggies. After going to the small market around the house to get some veggies for soup and couldn't get some fresh ones she remembered that I keep a garden and decided to come and explore.
Lucky for her the veggies were very much ready for harvest and my other neighbors who are closer have been feasting on this for their dinner soup already. Without much hesitation she started to pluck off some veggies. While doing so I realized that grasses were already fast catching up with the veggies and since I wasn't busy myself I both harvested and carried out some manual weeding. In the end she has as much veggies for soup and it did saved her some bucks.
Like I often say that it is very much easy to grow your own veggies and have fresh vegetables to eat when the time arises. With this by the house I don't need to bother about what quality of veggies is sold at the market or if the price is expensive. Within the space of two months the portion I had planted is fully covered with jute mallow especially.
There are some other species of veggies I wish that they cover the ground here as well so that I can have different species of vegetables available for use. Even though I had attempted to grow some fruit trees as well those are yet to flourish. Having pawpaw and trees that grow above the ground without consuming much space is commendable for any gardener. Pawpaw is my next target, an easy to grow fruit tree I wish to have it established here. All of these are very easy to grow and you will enjoy eating some pawpaw when they get matured within the space of 1-2years of planting.
