Greetings, fellow Hive members.

Cubans are naturally cheerful, and even when circumstances are difficult, they always maintain their characteristic charisma. Recently, taking photos has become a catalyst for that cheerfulness: as soon as they see a camera lens, their bodies transform, their faces take on a very peculiar expression, and smiles appear. Here we call it "posturing"; elsewhere, perhaps "posing for the camera." The fact is that when we see a camera lens, we transform ourselves. It happens to me a lot when I go out on the street: people see the camera and instantly shout, "Padrino, a photo!" Hence the series I wanted to share with you: images of poses and faces from the street where joy is the common denominator.

Saludos, colegas de Hive.

El cubano es alegre por naturaleza y, aunque las circunstancias sean difíciles, siempre mantendrá ese carisma que lo caracteriza. En los últimos tiempos, hacerse fotos se ha convertido en un catalizador de esa alegría: en cuanto se ve un objetivo, el cuerpo se transforma, el rostro adopta una forma muy peculiar y aparece la sonrisa. Por aquí le llamamos postureo; en otros lugares, quizá posar para la cámara. El caso es que, cuando vemos un objetivo, nos transformamos. Me sucede mucho cuando salgo a la calle: las personas ven la cámara y al instante me gritan: «Padrino, una foto». De ahí la serie que quería compartir con ustedes: imágenes de posturas y rostros de la calle donde la alegría es el denominador común.
