En la intensa octava (y última) jornada de la fase de liga en la actual temporada de la UEFA Champions League, el FC Barcelona en el Spotify Camp Nou, derrotó al FC Copenhague por un marcador de 4 goles a 1 y gracias a ese resultado más la suma de otros encuentros en esa misma jornada el club catalán alcanzó la quinta posición, cumpliendo con el objetivo de ser parte de los ocho primeros clasificados que proveen el pase directo a los octavos de final de dicho torneo; este es por segundo año consecutivo en que el Barça obtiene este privilegio, aunque con la particularidad de que es el único representante de La Liga en conseguirlo.

Esta no fue del todo una fase de liga tan placentera para el Barça como sí lo fue la pasada temporada en dónde los culés fueron segundos detrás del Liverpool; recordemos que en ocho encuentros tan solo obtuvieron una derrota contra el AS Monaco, un empate en la última jornada contra el Atalanta y seis victorias, en todos esos encuentros anotaron 28 goles y recibieron 13 goles; hago acotación a esa estadística ofensiva y defensiva porque en esta temporada los catalanes padecieron de problemas ofensivos y es que antes disputar la última jornada, el Barça tan solo había anotado 18 goles y recibido 13 en contra, una clara demostración de los problemas ofensivos del equipo quienes había bajado notoriamente esa estadística y que apesar de las críticas en defensa, se debe decir que mantuvo (nada categórico) su desempeño en la defensa a causa de el sistema que practican el cual ahora recibe muchas criticas negativas.

Es por eso que cuando este equipo pueda reforzarse y tener jugadores de más calidad en ciertas posiciones, es que posiblemente pueda ser verdaderamente competitivo, no en la primera fase, sino en la más importante.

That's why when this team can strengthen itself and have better quality players in certain positions, it may be able to be truly competitive, not in the first phase, but in the most important one.
