See You Again
Image created in ArtguruThe stranger smiled and said, “You don’t recognize me yet, but you will yesterday.”
What that stranger I met on the street said made no sense at the time, so I ignored him and kept walking.
When I got home, I unconsciously kept thinking about what that stranger had said. The only way that sentence would make sense is if I traveled back in time. And since I hate paradoxes, I went to the garage and turned on the old time machine to go back one day.
In yesterday's world, everything looked exactly as I remembered it. I went out into the street and ran looking for that man, to the same place where I was supposed to meet him the next day. But I didn't see him anywhere. I stood there waiting for him to appear, looking at the faces of hundreds of passersby until I finally recognized him in the crowd.
I approached him and said, "Hello, I know this will sound crazy, but I need you to come to this exact spot tomorrow at the same time to meet me."
"But why? And who are you?" the man asked.
"It doesn't matter. Just meet me tomorrow and tell me this: You don’t recognize me yet, but you will yesterday."
