¡Epale qué tal! Es la primera vez que escribo acá en Full Deportes, desde hace mucho tiempo quería hacerlo; pero siempre he guardado las formas. Fermionico me aclaró en el Lara Fest del año 2023 cuando lo conocí que podía escribir aquí con tranquilidad. Para los que no me conocen soy Neruel. :P Mentira, sé que si estoy por acá me abráis visto una que otra vez. Dejo un poco de mi por aquí: Mi presentación en Hive.

En fin, hace unos dos meses comencé nuevamente a ir al gimnasio. Eran casi 2 años que no pisaba el suelo sacro (el suelo sagrado de la composición física, ja, ja, ja). La razón principal por la que volví al gimnasio fue por una cosa que me alteró y llamó la atención. En mayo me pesé y el número no me agradó, el resultado fue de un poco más de 100 kilos. Era una locura, para una persona que mide 1.88 cm.

Soy de las personas que piensan que lo más importante que puede hacer un ser humano por sí mismo es construirse, trabajar por lo que desea y entrenar para mejorar su físico, estado de ánimo y seguridad personal. La obesidad, la gordura y la grasa no son saludables. Eso físicamente estaba provocando secuelas en mí: insomnio, pesadez muscular, dolor lumbar y, evidentemente, dolor prolongado en mis muñecas. El dolor en las muñecas era tan abrumador que no podía escribir. ¿Te imaginas que deje de escribir por temas de salud del túnel carpiano? Por ende, esto debía cambiar. Sí, el dolor en mis muñecas lo puedo sobrellevar en la actualidad.

Cambiar tu rutina diaria es muy difícil, cuesta mucho efectuar cambios drásticos. Me costó, pero tuve que cambiar mi horario de trabajo, levantarme más temprano, comer más saludable y pensar en mí. La disciplina implica sobreponer mi bienestar físico sobre los demás, ya sea mi familia, trabajo, estudios y compromisos. Después de todo, sólo hay un yo, y nadie me amara más que yo. Si yo no cuido de mí lo suficiente, nadie lo hará por mí. Es un principio absoluto.

Empezar el gimnasio fue muy difícil. ¡No querrías ver mi cara cuando esto ocurrió! En ese momento me preguntaba si podría seguir, si aguantaría y sería tolerante. Además, los días se estaban tornándose difíciles tanto por las rutinas de entrenamiento como por lo que debía hacer diariamente.

A la mayoría de los hombres no nos gusta hacer ejercicio para entrenar nuestras piernas (me incluyo en esa lista). Cuando inicié a finales de mayo a entrenar, empecé por la parte superior de mi cuerpo, luego ocurrió posteriormente la infamia de entrenamiento en las piernas. En ése momento sólo podía hacer sentadillas con 20 kilos, es decir, dos discos de 10 kilogramos. En este momento puedo hacer sentadillas con 60 y 70 kilogramos. Es un gran avance, aún falta mucho. No me mostraré físicamente por el momento. :)

Soldierofdreams me hizo hincapié desde hace tiempo que debía volver a entrenar. Algo que no me gustaba era que todos a mi alrededor me decían que había subido mucho de peso. Por los momentos los cachetes se han reducido y mi cara se ve un poco más plana. Entrenar por casi dos meses ha servido mucho en ése aspecto. Lo que más me sorprende es que sudo como si me duchara dos o tres veces. Es demasiado sudor todas las mañanas, mejor dicho, durante tres horas cada día.

Retomar el gimnasio trajo consigo un efecto en mi mamá y mi hermana. Ellas decidieron volver a entrenar luego de sus jornadas de trabajo en Chile. La disciplina + entrenamiento en mí generó un efecto positivo en ellas también.

Cada una de las fotografías en ésta publicación es del cierre de mi entrenamiento de piernas; la última máquina con la que suelo entrenar es la de pantorrillas. Cuando inicié, únicamente podía hacer éste ejercicio con 15 kilogramos. La máquina tenía un disco de 20 kilogramos, uno de 15 kilogramos y dos de 10 kilogramos. En total serían unos 55 kilogramos, es un buen número. Si sigo así, muchas cosas van a cambiar en pocos meses.

Elegí entrenar en un gimnasio a diez cuadras de mi casa. Una cuadra mide aproximadamente 80 a 100 metros. Me voy caminando y luego hago algo de cardio. Es una manera perfecta de relajarse y estirar el cuerpo. Claro, también debo hacer otros estiramientos. Por los momentos es una rutina increíble y que ha dado resultados. Lo importante de esto es que estoy haciendo ejercicio y construyendo la versión que quiero de mí.

The pain in my wrists was so overwhelming that I couldn't write. Can you imagine if I stopped writing because of carpal tunnel health issues? So this had to change. Yes, I can cope with the pain in my wrists today.

Changing your daily routine is very difficult. It's hard to make drastic changes. It was hard for me, but I had to change my work schedule, get up earlier, eat healthier and think about myself. Discipline means putting my physical well-being above others, be it my family, work, studies and commitments. After all, there is only one me, and no one will love me more than me. If I don't take care of myself enough, no one else will do it for me. It is an absolute principle.

Starting the gym was very difficult. You wouldn't want to see my face when this happened to me! At that time, I wondered if I could go on and if I would endure and be tolerant. Also, the days were becoming difficult, both because of the training routines and what I had to do on a daily basis.

Most of us men don't like to exercise to train our legs (I include myself in that list). When I started training at the end of May, I started with my upper body, then the leg training infamy set in. At that time, I could only do squats with 20 kilograms, i.e., two 10 kilogram discs. Now I can do squats with 60 and 70 kilograms. It's a big step forward, but there is still a long way to go. I won't show myself physically at the moment. :)

Soldierofdreams had been telling me for a long time that I should get back to training. One thing I didn't like was that everyone around me was telling me that I had put on too much weight. At the moment, my cheeks have shrunk, and my face looks a bit flatter. Training for almost two months has helped a lot in that respect. What surprises me the most is that I sweat like I shower two or three times. It's too much sweat every morning, or rather, for three hours every day.

Going back to the gym had an effect on my mom and sister. They decided to go back to training after their working days in Chile. The discipline and training I received had a positive effect on them as well.

Each of the pictures in this post is from the end of my leg training; the last machine I usually train on is the calf machine. When I started, I could only do this exercise with 15 kilograms. The machine had a 20-kilogram disc, a 15-kilogram disc and two 10-kilogram discs. In total, that would be about 55 kilograms, that's a good number. I chose to train at a gym ten blocks from my house. A block is about 80 to 100 meters. I walk there and then do some cardio. It's a perfect way to relax and stretch my body.
