This week’s topic is such a fun one because it revolves around the most dominant color in my wardrobe. It made me pause for a moment and take a closer look, not just at my clothes, but at what they silently say about me. Funny how black, a color I used to overlook, has somehow become my wardrobe’s favorite language.

I didn’t wake up one day and say, “From now on, I’ll wear only black.” But with time, it just happened. Or maybe, to be honest, it didn’t just happen, I chose it. Over and over again. Each time I walked into a store, or stood in front of a fabric seller, or scrolled through online fashion pages, black always caught my eye. It was calm, but not dull. Bold, but not loud. It just had a presence I couldn’t ignore.

Now, when I look at my closet, it’s filled with black gowns, black trousers, black tops, black skirts, even the ones that have a touch of color still carry black as their base. And I don’t regret it. In fact, it makes me smile.

I think black became my comfort zone because of how it makes me feel. I’m very light-skinned, so wearing black tones things down just enough. It gives me balance. I don’t look too flashy, but I still look elegant. Black helps me step into a room and feel like I belong there, without having to shout for attention. It’s quiet power.

More than fashion, I think the color black has taught me a few things about life. It has taught me that you don’t have to be loud to be seen, and you don’t have to wear the brightest colors to shine. Sometimes, the things that make us stand out the most are the ones that feel the most natural to us.

¡Hola, mis bellas damas de la familia Hive! Es una nueva semana y estoy muy emocionada de estar aquí compartiendo una vez más. El tema de esta semana es muy divertido porque gira en torno al color más dominante en mi armario. Me hizo detenerme por un momento y observar más de cerca, no solo mi ropa, sino también lo que silenciosamente dice sobre mí. No estoy diciendo que el negro me salvó, pero ciertamente me sostuvo. En los días en que no me sentía yo misma, cuando el mundo se sentía ruidoso o incierto, el negro me ofrecía un tipo de refugio. Me ayudaba a centrarme, a sentirme segura, a volver a mí.

Y aunque ahora me atrevo a explorar otros colores, el negro sigue siendo el corazón silencioso de mi estilo. Una voz firme y familiar que siempre me recuerda que no necesito gritar para ser escuchada.
