Sometimes I enjoy painting with my pastel chalks on (dark) coloured paper. The most interesting part of it for me is focussing on the highlights since the shadows are already given. I only struggle with the fixing spray, since it´s blowing parts of the chalk away and I have to repaint them and be really careful when spraying again. Maybe I learn it onw day...
I chose my own photos as a template, as you can see below. The budgie was commissioned by a friend whose pet had died.
Manchmal male ich gerne mit meinen Pastellkreiden auf (dunklem) Farbpapier. Der interessanteste Teil für mich ist es, mich auf die Lichter zu konzentrieren, da die Schatten bereits gegeben sind. Ich habe nur mit dem Fixierspray zu kämpfen, da es Teile der Kreide wegbläst und ich sie neu lackieren und beim erneuten Sprühen sehr vorsichtig sein muss. Vielleicht lerne ich es ja eines Tages...
Ich habe meine eigenen Fotos als Vorlage gewählt, wie ihr weiter unten sehen könnt. Der Wellensittich war eine Auftragsarbeit für eine Freundin, deren Haustier gestorben war.

Wow! Your pictures are really great. I sometimes try to paint something. It's a long way to get a usable picture. At the moment I'm trying my hand at watercolour. But mostly I love light painting.
