Money Plant
Welcome to #SublimeSunday, a tag presenting you with the unique opportunity to post something a bit different, wacky, crazy or just whatever takes your fancy, initiated by @c0ff33a ☕️
And also #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108
Money plant (Scientific or Botanical name: Epipremnum aureum) is a popular houseplant that is grown indoors. Money plant is also known by many other names such as golden pothos, silver vine, devil's vine, devil's ivy, Solomon Islands ivy, hunter's robe, ivy arum, taro vine, feng shui money plant, etc. They are creeper plants and can climb, supposedly, up to 20 m high.
People believed that money plants are good luck plants, and growing money plants at home will attract energy of wealth and prosperity. I have been growing money plants on and off, and I must say I haven’t noticed any increased in my wealth.
Money plant can be grown easily from stem cuttings. They are very hardy plants. They grow easily in water, or in soil. Just snip off a bit of the plant and stick it into the ground, or in a bottle, or vase with water, and wait for them to take root. Just give them water and a bit of light, and they will thrive. They can be grown indoors, and outdoors, and they do not need special care. It is difficult to kill a money plant. That is why it is also known as devil's vine or devil’s ivy.
It is not necessary to give money plant fertilizers. However, they will grow faster and look healthier if you give them some nitrate based fertilizer – if you are planting them in water. But remember to change the water every few days. You don’t want to breed mosquitoes in your house.
If you plant them in pots, you can add some fertilizer every now and then, if you want. You can put a stick in the soil, so that the vine can climb. Or, you can hang the pot, and let the vine fall naturally. Water them when the soil felt dry.
Growing money plants.
Cut a few of the stems and stick them in the soil or water. Generally, they are very hardy plants, but for new shoots, you might have to be a little patient with them. Put them in the water first, until you see roots growing. You can then transfer them to the pot. Once they grow roots, all they need is water and a bit of light.

Signs of roots growing.

Once the roots are growing, you can plant them in the pot. Plant a few of these in a pot. Spread them out.
When they are grown, you need to give them a trim, if they grow too wild. Cut them back and they will grow new shoots. After some time, when the original plant looks a bit tired, you can repeat the whole process again. Snip a few stems, and grow a new pot.
I find little pots like these really liven up the table or room.

I heard this is supposed to be an air purifying kind of plants.
I notice you have some antique type table there. 😎
Yes, it is supposedly an air purifying kind of plants. But you would need a big pot or pots of them. Anyway, I like them because they are easy to plant and needs minimum care, and they add a bit of greenery to the room. If it also purifies the room, great! 😊
Very sharped eyed. Yes, it is an antique type of table. That is as far as I know. It belongs to my brother. I don't know if it is worth anything. Probably not. 😊
To the right person, the table is probably worth something. :-)
True. 😊

Money i like money. Also recently I bought a venus fly trap to put on my porch.
Good luck with your venus fly trap. Do you have to feed it, or there are enough flies around for it to sustain itself?
im feeding it love bugs right now
Yikes! I don't think I will ever want to have to feed a plant like that.
Howdy sir Vincent! Very interesting. No increase in money but what about energy? Is that why you can walk all over the city?
Howdy Jonboy. Now, that's a thought. Maybe that is where I got my energy from, to walk all over the city. :-)
There ya go sir Vincent! Not many people our age can easily walk all over the city.
Surely we are not that old! lol
Well that's true, I reckon we have another 10 or 20 years where we can be walking or even running around the city! How's the coronavirus doing over there? Is the country reopened?
