Coconut candy (Eng/Esp)
I return to this fabulous community to share a recipe that is very special to me, as it reminds me of my childhood. Back then, my dad used to make me a cocada every weekend. He would buy coconuts at the market and make this fantastic drink at home.
Ingredients:
- 1 young coconut
- 5 tablespoons of powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 cup of coconut water
Preparation:
The most difficult part of this preparation is cutting the coconut, which requires great skill and strength to achieve the desired result. However, with the right knife, the task becomes easy. Once the coconut is opened, the water is removed and then it is finished opening to make use of the pulp.
I put the coconut water in the blender, after straining it through a sieve to remove any impurities. Then I add the pieces of pulp, the tablespoons of milk, and the sugar. Blend until smooth.
This recipe can also be made with harder coconuts, which are perfect for desserts. It tastes just as delicious, although it is thicker.
So I ate my cocada and imagined I was on the beach, although when I was chopping the coconut I felt like a castaway on a desert island. There's nothing better than taking advantage of the fruits that nature gives us and which, combined with the right ingredients, can give us unforgettable moments.
