Birdwatching - 3241🐦

🦉 The Eurasian nuthatch or wood nuthatch (Sitta europaea asiatica )
- Sitta sittē (Greek) mentioned by Aristotle and other ancient Greek. by the authors of the bird, something similar to the woodpecker
- europaea (lat.) European
- asiatica (lat.) Asian

These agile creatures aren't particularly afraid of people, so you can admire them at close range. And I'm referring to those living in forests. Those living in city parks and groves can get even closer; in fact, they might even sit on you and beg for treats or even pick your pocket.

Thanks to their very tenacious claws, they move very dexterously and quickly along the tree trunk in any direction.
They need this in order to find and hide excess food in various holes in trees, as well as in your pockets and folds of clothing 😄

So beautiful pics! Here in Italy we call this bird "picchio muratore" and it's very common to watch it around. ❤️
