¡Hola Comunidad de amantes del anime y el manga!

Para empezar la semana, comencé haciendo un nuevo diseño para un personaje adoptable. Esta vez, trabajé el concepto de una delfin anthro.

Ya he hecho personajes furries y dragones anthros pero no había intentado aún con criaturas marinas, así que quise probar el diseño de uno.

Al inicio no estaba muy clara cómo hacer para representar a una chica delfín. Lo primero era adaptar ciertos aspectos de un delfín a un estilo anthro, así que algunos como el largo hocico de la especie tenía que sea adaptada sin que se perdiera el aspecto.

También estaba indecisa sobre cómo representar el cabello. No quería que luciera como una sirena así que opté por transformar la aleta superior en una larga aleta en forma de cascada que representara el cabello.

En cuanto al cuerpo, los delfines, al igual que las ballenas y tiburones, lucen brillantes cuando la luz choca contra ellos, eso me dio la idea de darle un traje acrílico, así podía incluir ese brillo tan hermoso que se ve en ellos cuando saltan en el agua.

También quería que su mirada reflejara la inocencia e inteligencia que se ve sus ojos. Eso los hace ver sumamente tiernos y quería que eso se reflejara en ella.

Me tomó un poco poner todas estas ideas juntas y finalmente este fue el resultado:

Le puse como nombre Aqua Fin. El nombre es sólo temporal, ya que el adoptante puede ponerle un nuevo nombre dependiendo del lore al que quiera adaptar a la pequeña, pero se me hace imposible crear personajes sin ponerles un nombre aunque sea para mi propio manejo.

Me gustó como resultó. Tal vez ahora me anime a dibujar más criaturas acuáticas. Esta semana haré una lista de las especies que quiero dibujar para los próximos adoptables. Y mientras tanto, ¡Aqua Fin se va a la tienda de mi página de Ko-fi a esperar por un nuevo hogar!

Hello anime and manga lovers community!

To kick off the week, I started a new design for an adoptable character. This time, I worked on the concept of an anthro dolphin.

I’ve already created furry characters and anthro dragons, but I hadn’t tried marine creatures yet, so I wanted to experiment with designing one.

At first it wasn’t clear how to portray a dolphin girl. The first step was to adapt certain dolphin features to an anthro style, so elements like the species’ long snout had to be modified without losing the overall look.

I was also unsure how to represent the hair. I didn’t want it to look like a mermaid, so I turned the dorsal fin into a long, waterfall‑shaped fin that serves as the hair.

Regarding the body, dolphins, like whales and sharks, shine when light hits them. That gave me the idea to give her an acrylic suit, allowing me to incorporate that beautiful shimmer you see when they leap out of the water.

I also wanted her gaze to reflect the innocence and intelligence seen in dolphin eyes. That makes them look incredibly cute, and I wanted that quality to come through in her.

It took a bit of time to bring all these ideas together, and this is the final result:

I named her Aqua Fin. The name is temporary, as the adopter can give her a new name that fits the lore they want for the little one, but I find it impossible to create characters without at least a placeholder name for my own reference.

I’m happy with how it turned out. Maybe I’ll now be brave enough to draw more aquatic creatures. This week I’ll make a list of species I want to draw for upcoming adoptables. In the meantime, Aqua Fin is heading to the shop on my Ko‑fi page, waiting for a new home!
