Water Chestnut Chaat
Water Chestnut Chaat
This water-rich fruit is a winter superfood with numerous health benefits. There's hardly anyone who doesn't enjoy the taste of chaat. Today, I'm making water chestnut chaat.
Ingredients:
- Water chestnuts - 250 grams
- Green chili and ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice
- Coriander leaves - finely chopped
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Cumin powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon
Method:
To make water chestnut chaat, first wash and rinse the water chestnuts. Clean it.
Then, add water to the pressure cooker, add the water chestnuts with their skins on, and cook until they whistle 2-3 times.
Now, turn off the heat, remove the water chestnuts, peel them, and set them aside.
Pour ghee into a pan and when it's hot, add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Add the paste of green chilies and ginger.
Add peeled water chestnuts
Fry them for 5-6 minutes to make them a little crispy.
Their taste is enhanced when they become crispy. Now add all the dry spices
(black pepper powder, black salt, chaat masala, and chili flakes)
Mix well and turn off the heat, then add lemon juice.
Mix it well. Now transfer it to a serving plate and sprinkle with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Add finely chopped raw onions to taste.
Hot - Eat hot and feed others.
You can add pomegranate seeds and sauces of your choice to this chaat to suit your taste.
I didn't use any sauces to make it
healthier.
