Conclave Arcana Unveiled

The Splinterlands Team is extremely excited to announce the release of Conclave Arcana—our sixth core set! It will launch with 82 cards.

• 24 Common cards
• 29 Rare cards
• 14 Epic cards
• 15 Legendary cards

We’ll also release an additional nine cards as airdrops during the coming Conflicts: three Legendary unit cards and six player-designed Legendary archon cards! Exclusively, one rare and one legendary promo card for the presale!

Conclave Arcana brings new abilities, new archon bloodline mechanics, new pack types, and—for the first time in Splinterlands history—new card foils! Read on for the full breakdown.

🧠 New Abilities!

Conclave Arcana introduces eleven brand-new abilities—each one a game-changer. These bold, strategic tools open up entirely new ways to play, counter, and dominate the arena. Whether you're a tactician, a risk-taker, or a combo master, there's something here that will change the way you think about every match. Ready to see what arcane power looks like?

Painforge: +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally.

Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units.

Bloodline Tribute: When defeated, all allied units of the same bloodline gain +1 health, speed, and armor and +1 power to each shared attack type.

Resurgence: Self-resurrects once per battle with 100% health and armor. All magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied. Skips turn. Deals 1 physical damage to all units.

Shapeshift: Treated as all bloodlines.

Final Rest: Allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate.

Reveal: Each round applies Revealed to a Camouflaged enemy unit. Revealed units can be targeted by direct attacks.

Relentless Strike: Attacks deal true damage. +1 damage if the target has Void, Shield, or Forcefield.

Bloodline Dominion: You can summon any unit of the same bloodline as this archon, regardless of element.

Empower: While not revealed, this unit and adjacent units gain +1 Power.

Last Word: Provides immunity to Final Rest (allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate).

In celebration of your role as a battle mage, we’re rebranding summoner cards to archons; in the world of the Splinterlands, you are the summoner, imbuing yourself with the power of an archon and summoning manifestations—units—to battle in the arena…and beyond! Same exciting gameplay mechanics, new Splinterlands-specific fantasy-flavor!

You can identify archons by the glowing rune etched into the base of their frame. Use them to invoke elemental strategies and—with Conclave Arcana—bloodline strategies as well! Our latest set comes with a slew of new bloodline archons sure to revolutionize your gameplay. With the Bloodline Dominion ability, these incredible cards let you summon any units that share their bloodline, regardless of element, and provide powerful bloodline-specific buffs. Elevate your gameplay with unprecedented combinations that blend the elements and send your opponent reeling using these formidable archons!

New Packs!

Conclave Arcana comes with THREE brand-new pack types—all sold in the in-game shop and available for trade on Hive Engine.

Starter Packs

We’ve designed Starter packs as an accessible and affordable entry point for new and returning players alike. Each pack costs only 1,000 DEC or $1 in Credits and contains 5 cards from the Conclave Arcana set: One guaranteed Rare card per pack. Starter packs will only contain Regular Foil Common and Rare cards, so you can’t use potions with them.

As a bonus, every $10 Spellbook purchase will include five Starter packs, with the company purchasing these directly from the DAO and sharing 50% of the revenue from each sale.

Starter packs will remain available until the release of the next major set to ensure new players have access to discounted packs.

Standard Packs

Standard packs return at a cost of 4,000 DEC or $4 in Credits, offering a mix of 5 cards from the Conclave Arcana set. The odds by rarity and foil of each card in the pack are shown below. The odds remain the same as in previous sets. One card from each pack is guaranteed to be Rare or better.

• Common: 75.2%
• Rare: 20%
• Epic: 4%
• Legendary: 0.8%
• Gold Foil: 2%

Legendary Potions double your chances of pulling Epic or Legendary cards, while Alchemy Potions double your chances of pulling Gold Foils.

Alchemy Packs

Alchemy packs cost 12,000 DEC or $12 in Credits. Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Gold Foil.*NOTE: if a Black Foil is pulled, then it will override and replace the guaranteed Gold Foil.

Alchemy Potions double your chances of pulling Gold Foils for the other four cards, while Legendary Potions double your chances of any card being Epic or Legendary—including your guaranteed Gold Foil!

Legendary Packs

Legendary packs cost 24,000 DEC or $24 in Credits. Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Legendary card.

Legendary Potions double your chances of pulling Epic or Legendary cards with the other four cards, while Alchemy Potions double your chances of any card being Gold Foil—including your guaranteed Legendary card!

New Foils!

Conclave Arcana introduces three new foils of cards—Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil, and Black Foil Arcane—with new card frames, animations, and unique mint numbers. Get ready for custom card backs, enhanced reveal animations, updated foil icons, and advanced filtering options in the market and your collection. You’ll also get a live display of remaining Arcane cards, with real-time drop chances shown on the website!

✨ Black Foil

Black Foils appear randomly in Conclave Arcana packs as max-level cards with collectible numbering. They cannot be combined.

You can use both Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane in lieu of Gold Foil during brawls and tournaments!

Other Perks:

• +20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
• Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
• 5x the DEC burn value, Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils
• 5x base Production Point multiplier (same as Beta cards)

🎩 Odds

You can only find Black Foils in Conclave Arcana packs. The chances of each card being a Black Foil vary by pack type and are listed below:

• Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000 cards or 1 in 800 packs)
• Alchemy Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400 cards or 1 in 80 packs)
• Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800 cards or 1 in 160 packs)
• Starter Packs: 0%

A new Black Foil Potion is in development and will double your chances of receiving a Black Foil (details TBD).

✨ Gold Foil Arcane and Black Foil Arcane

We’re excited to introduce the Arcane variant of both Gold Foils and Black Foils! Both Black Foil Arcane and Gold Foil Arcane cards include a special visual flair and collectible numbering. If you luck upon one, it will always be a max-level card and cannot be combined.

We’ll pre-mint the Arcane variants and distribute them throughout the lifecycle of Conclave Arcana—keep an eye out for them!

We’ll distribute Arcane cards in Conclave Arcana packs (except Starter packs), with odds determined by remaining supply and pack weight:

• Standard = 1x
• Alchemy = 3x
• Legendary = 6x
• Starter = 0x

If you win an Arcane card when you open a pack, the game will choose a random card from the pool and insert it into your draw.

Each pack can contain up to one Arcane.

🏋 Presale

The Conclave Arcana Presale begins April 22nd and is your chance to secure powerful cards and rare rewards before the full set is released! The presale will end on May 11th.

During the presale window, you can score:

• 💎 Alchemy packs: 100,000 available at 12,000 DEC/Credits each

📦 Promo Cards!

Every player who purchases packs during the presale can receive exclusive promo cards:

• One Rare Promo Card (Arcane Skinwalker) for every 40,000 DEC or Credits spent
• One Legendary Promo Card (Gramel the Hunger) for every 400,000 DEC or Credits spent

Each promo card earned has a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil. Players will also receive one guaranteed Gold Foil of each rarity for every 25 copies earned.

These cards are exclusive to the Conclave Arcana presale and will never be available again!

Rare Promo Card: Arcane Skinwalker

Arcane skinwalkers shift forms as easily as others draw breath. One moment, a dwarf. The next, an ulund. A child. A beast. Someone with a familiar face.

Portia Nyr has no illusions about what they are. They’re not creatures to be trusted. They’re weapons to be aimed.

No matter the skin they wear, arcane skinwalkers feed on suffering and doubt. Whispers spread through the ranks — was that our scout? Is that really our commander? Are the soldiers to my left and right who they say they are?

And sometimes, it’s worse. It’s someone you love. A friend. A sibling. A lover. They hold you close. And slip the knife between your ribs.

Legendary Promo Card: Gramel the Hunger

“It wears your face. It speaks with your voice. And when it claims its next victim, it'll eat them with your mouth.”

Portia Nyr summoned Gramel the Hunger and its arcane skinwalkers from the Plane of Chaos to serve the Conclave Arcana. But in her boundless ambition and pride, she mistook dominion for submission.

The Hunger was never meant to serve. In the ever-writhing hellscape of its domain, it is a king of kings, sovereign of suffering, glutton of identity. It devours its victims face-first and screaming, feasting on flesh and remembrance. Their forms, their memories, their very selves become the Hunger’s.

And now, it walks the Splinterlands, shackled by the magic of Portia Nyr.

Gramel the Hunger plays along. For now.

🏆 Leaderboard

Throughout the presale, every DEC or Credit you spend earns points toward the Conclave Arcana Presale Leaderboard.

When the presale ends, top players will receive incredible prizes, with the top six collaborating with the team to design a Legendary archon card! *Each winner will receive mint #1 of the Black Foil Legendary Archon they design!

The Top 6 battle mages on the Pre-Sale leaderboard will have the opportunity to specifically influence a card's Name, Character Art, and Lore.

🎟️ Raffle

🔥 The Presale Raffle takes place after the presale, delivering some of the rarest cards in Splinterlands history to lucky winners—including Black Foil, Black Foil Arcane, and Gold Foil Arcane variants of both promo cards!

Every 1,000 DEC or Credits spent during the presale earns you one Raffle Entry. After the presale ends, all entries will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 71 random prizes from the pool below:

Note: All BF, GFA, and BFA promo cards will only be available via raffle or leaderboard.

🛒 General Sale

You can open all Conclave Arcana packs on May 13th when the general sale of the remaining packs begins:

• 🧪 4.5 million Standard packs
• 💎 900,000 Alchemy packs
• 🛡️ 450,000 Legendary packs

To ensure the supply of Conclave Arcana meets player demand, a daily burn mechanic will be in effect:

• If fewer than 15,000 Standard packs, 3,000 Alchemy packs, or 1,500 Legendary packs are sold in a single day...
  • 90% of each pack’s remaining inventory will be burned
  • The other 10% will be sent to the sps.dao account for future DAO-controlled use

This ensures that all limited packs are sold or burned within 300 days of the start of general sale.

🏰 Conflicts

We’ll add nine additional cards to the Conclave Arcana set over time, including six player-designed Legendary archon cards. These will be distributed via the Conflicts system introduced with the Rebellion set.

🎯 Contribution

The total collection power of the Conclave Arcana cards in a Mage Wagon, combined with its staked packs, determines its Contribution per hour.

Conclave Arcana packs will contribute the following when you stake them in Mage Wagons:

• Standard Pack: 100 Contribution
• Alchemy Pack: 300 Contribution
• Legendary Pack: 600 Contribution
• Starter Pack: not eligible (but you can still stake the Common and Rare cards found in them)

Additionally, you can stake Rebellion cards (Core, Promo, and unlocked Reward cards) and Rebellion Standard packs on Mage Wagons. All Rebellion-based assets will give 50% of the Contribution of Conclave Arcana assets.

🔧 Upgrading and Repairing Mage Wagons

Players using Rebellion Mage Wagons will need to upgrade them to participate in Conclave Arcana Conflicts. Then, after each Conflict, you’ll need to repair your Mage Wagons before you can use them in the next Conflict.

Upgrade and repair costs are TBD. All tokens spent on them will be burned, making Conflicts a meaningful token sink to maintain the long-term sustainability of the Splinterlands economy.

The team is also exploring the use of land resources and other tokens as repair materials. Stay tuned!

📅 Modern Format Update

With the launch of Conclave Arcana, the Modern Format will update to Rebellion and Conclave Arcana. All Chaos Legion cards—including core, Riftwatchers, Promo, and Reward cards—will rotate to Wild only.

We’ll continue to support older cards via brawls, land, and tournaments and will actively explore additional ways to maintain long-term utility for legacy sets.
