When I saw this prompt, I just smiled because it didn’t occur to me that the year is gradually coming to an end because I am bent on achieving at least the most important things on my bucket list for the year.

This year has been a rough one for me honestly, but being a quitter has never helped anyone, or maybe just the headstrong people, and luckily, I am part of those.

Earlier this year, I had a plan to become a badass data analyst weaving the power of python and SQL to derive data-driven insights and help businesses grow. Oh well, I am still in the process, and I am not fazed that I’m still learning. It’s still 26 days to the end of September plus the other three months to go. There is still time to lock in…

There is still time was what I’ve been saying since January when my laptop crashed again. I fixed it, and it went all crashing again in February. At that point, I knew it was either I put an end to the laptop or put my goals on the line. So, I took the decision.

I made my first huge money from tech by selling the laptop after fixing it one more time. Then, I went ahead to borrow money from family members to add to it and buy another one which I’ve been using so far. Where am I in the learning? Thanks to the almighty school of YouTube because where would I have seen 300,000 naira to enrol in a data school? Well, learning is going well and fine so far minus the MTN palava.

Months passed, and now, I make sure that I learn something new towards my goal at the end of the day… crazily, the goal got bigger. Lol. I added something crazy to it that would stretch me a lot, but that’s fine. And then, there are hindrances again. Light palava. However, I am very good at looking for solutions where there seems to be none.

The time is passing by so fast that I do not realize that time is going so fast. I had a lot of plans for the year, and crazily, I am yet to achieve any of those. It’s not a problem though. Three months is a long time to get things done.

Am I curious of what 2026 has in store for me? Nah, I’m not. I don’t even think I am ready to go into a new year right now. Rather, I am focused on ticking off at least one of those plans I had lined out for 2025. Again, I am so engrossed in making sure 2025 is so positively memorable for me, my goals, and everyone around me to fill in for the bad times of the year.

To me, the “ember” months crawled in upon me that I didn’t realize it’s here. Lol. In fact, the popular songs that people would sing the moment we enter these months is nowhere to be heard. Maybe because everyone’s still busy ticking off their to-dos.

Maybe by the time I’m done getting one done, I may add letting love find me to the year’s bucket list. Eh eh. That would be the most important thing to my parents right now.
