My Actifit Report Card: March 19 2026
Eid of childhood
Eid of childhood used to be Eid itself. Simplicity was such that if you just got new clothes, there was no place for happiness. Keeping those new Eid shoes hidden from everyone so that everyone's eyes fell on them on the morning of Eid was a different curiosity. An Eid gift of ten or fifteen rupees in your pocket was no less than a huge treasure.
When we went out with a three-rupee bottle, two-rupee curd, and a lot of oil on our heads, and those colored glasses bought from the fair, we did not consider ourselves less than a prince. That carefree and freedom of roaming the streets all day was the real Eid.
Today's children cannot find that pleasure even after spending thousands of dollars in shopping, because they have an abundance of things, but not that sweetness. We remember that the second pair of Eid shoes was often our school uniform, but where is the blessing and happiness that was in that too in today's expensive brands! _This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS).
