Inception of Ghetto Chronicles
What I have been up to...
Hello to all fellow #Hivers, at whatever corner of this ginomous planet of ours. I hope the year 2026 has been of great blessings and you are still present and conscious of the reace of existence and living. Personally the year has been alright, Allah has been merciful and granted me with an equal meet for my needs and whatsoever I might lack for, so I can't complain.
During the last months of last year, November and December I moved from my college town to the capital city of Kenya or should I say the capital city of Africa, Nairobi. 😜 Honestry the transition in itself was a miracle, I was struggling with my finances, I have been in that state for quite some time now as a result of a bout of depression and a crazy burnout which took me quite some time to recover from. On getting to Nairobi, I moved to the East, in Embakasi, I had expectations of boarding up with my uncle for a while before things were rolling again in my life, but as fate would have it, I found I could not live with my relatives due to past unbashed family beefs, but since I was not going away I decided to stay in the infamous ghetto, Mukuru Kwa Njenga, located in Embakasi South.
My stay here now this marks my 3rd month in the Ghetto, survial here in a way is much cheaper and there is a sense of community that exists that doesn't exist anywhere else in the a myriad of diffent hoods around the larger Nairobi Metropolitan area. Mukuru Kwa Njenga is infamous, of course not for the best of reasons, but due to the myriad of interactions and exchanges that take place here, being honest, the hood is volatile maybe more than Crypto currency in the markets. 😅 The standards of living are but meagre but the masses flock here for in the hood there is a sort of total anarchist system, yeah in the community there exists a police station to report matters, but members here prefer dealing with things on the streets, and sometimes means the hurting of an individual during such scafles. But the ultimate is the fact that everyone is free to live however they see fit, and according to their financial means, in a way a Ghetto is a crucial stepping stone for those of us who from time to time fall from grace with the financial god's.
Inception
Due to career choices, and being privy to what happens in the world of Technology I came across the #Hive platform. Combining my passion for writing, and the fact that I am in an area with quite the happenings I would love to found #GhettoChronicles, a blog series on Hive that will allow me to share my writing passion with the world, share the escapedes in my current community and make money at the end of the day. Actually it is my hope that the writing for the blog generates enough royalties that one day the blog may morph into something much more than just a blog by a Computer science droupout, currently struggling to find his footing after having slipped awhile back.
Since I currently am unable to create a new hive account for @GhettoChronicles I will use my personal blog to share a series about Ghetto Chronicles, sharing updates bi weekly or on a weekly basis. My hope is at the end of the day to create a space where people get to see and appreciate the Ghetto like I do for it has allowed me to survive albeit a crazy survival but survial nonetheless. In a way the hood has always given second chances to most who find themselves there from time to time. It is crucial though to not forget oneself during one's stay there for truly no where is it so easy to loose oneself and completely turn into a human cabbage: a zombie, due to the a myriad of escape channels readly available and at a very pocket friendly price. Due to the large numbers of unemployed youths, and the high levels of drug abuse and misuse, crime is rampant and the hoods ultimately turn into breeding and hiding grounds for goons and the lawless.0
Despite how crazy though hoods, ghettos are ultimately homes to those who can't always afford a better living, they allow many to survive through a myriad of a lot of inventive solutions and the crudest ventures, the ghetto is always a buzz with conversations about how to chase more paper, and the thing is Ghetto folks have an audacity most don't, well makes sense since most have had past interactions with the rehabilitation and reformations depertment, and they are willing to do anything as far as at the end of the day there is some coin being made. The blackmarket in Ghetto is the ultimate Black market for it lacks in nothing, just about a matter of time before someone drops by with whatever it is that one was looking for.
Everyone is the ghetto knows each other, and everyone is aware of what happens all around the hood for the transit of information from one point to the other is very fast, 😂 nearly rivals the gigabit speeds of the internet, in the ghettos survival is through illicit means, and hence the information high way is very active and always up to date with whatever the happenings. Due to the fact that people know each other, it is very hard to go through a tough time alone, there is always someone on the lookout, there is a sense of brotherhood that despite being subtle is very strong and the most harmonizing element in the ghetto, for truly every ghetto is full of all sorts of whatever levels of insaneness one can think of.
Ghetto Chronicles is my gift to the community for housing, clothing, feeding and taking care of me when I was at my most lowest point. It is the only community that was welcoming despite the myriad of different opinions, for I have had chances in the past maybe to change things but ultimately I have no regrets but just toatl surrender to my destiny and whatever fate has in store for me. Curently I am a ghetto, no one truly knows where tommorrow I shall be except Allah!
Further updates in my future updates.
Y'all have a good one!
