5 things.
What's with this weather?
Over the past few weeks, I've been indisposed, the weather has been really cold and it's almost like there's something in the atmosphere, every single person you meet is either sick or has just recovered from sickness.
It was my turn these past few weeks, I think the rain that had been beating me had finally taken effect and I was hit by some really serious cold. I thought I was going to die for some nights.
But I don't want to just write about how I've recovered to this point but about a thought that came to mind while I was struggling. Immediately I became sick, everything that I used to stress over became insignificant. All my work, my rehearsals, my meetings, my planning and organizations, everything just vanished. I just took meds and slept. I think I slept over 20 hours per day, maybe that contributed well to my recovery.
Those things I held on to on a daily, became insignificant.
All the activities I usually engaged in, all the screen time I usually accumulated, I didn't know where my devices where, everything just disappeared. That's when I realized that a lot of things don't matter in the grand scheme. We put too much effort and energy into a whole lot of things we do that take up most of our day but when we actually think about it, it doesn't really matter. Things like doom scrolling and the amount of time we spend chatting or arguing on both the internet and real life. There are also a plethora of things I may not mention but we all do that don't amount to anything.
When faced with critical life situations like loss of time by age or physical impairments, you realize that there are only so much we can do and to focus on those things from the beginning is key to our purpose and for living out our existence.
Think about it, really.
What are 5 things you do on a daily that empowers you for your purpose or goals, what are 5 things you do on a daily that you can't tell it's real benefit to your purpose or goals?
