It was her, I'm more than sure. Her fake, silly, perfect little girl face can't fool me. The way she looks at me only confirms her wrongdoing. I know it was my sister who hid my bag of blueberry-scented cardamom coffee. Doesn't she know what it costs me to get it? Maybe she does and that's why she wants to bother me.

I walk into the living room and there she is with my parents watching TV. She looked at me sideways; she did it for like a minute. She gave me a mischievous smile and then covered her mouth with her hand. Her flippant attitude made me even more suspicious of her guilt.

"Mom, Dad, haven't you seen my bag of special coffee?" I asked. They all turned to look at me at the same time.

"I don't know son," My mother replied. "You always keep it in your room, and I don't mess with your stuff."

"I haven't seen it either," My father asserted. "You didn't put it somewhere else and don't remember?"

"No, if I had I would remember, I'm always watching where I put things... What about you, Chris?" Referring to my sister. "Have you seen my coffee bag?"

She looked at me squinting her eyes as if she was lazy to answer me.

"I don't know, I haven't seen anything like it, just the coffee kept in the cupboard."

I didn't believe her but decided to act normal, as I didn't want to form a drama in front of my parents. I returned to my room and threw myself on the bed angrily. If I confronted lying to Chris, all it would do was cause her to make fun of me, and if, on the other hand, I did nothing, I would write off my bag of special coffee and she would always scoff at that. I couldn't allow that, so amid my anger, I came up with a devious plan.

My house is huge and very old. The walls are made of cedar wood. Between them, there is a separation that generates narrow paths where only a very thin person can pass. These connections are directly linked to the attic, that is, from this part of the house, one can enter behind the walls and walk between them; up or down through the whole place.

This is something I discovered as a child because I have always been a curious explorer. I don't think my parents, nor my sister know about this separation between the walls, as my dad always told us that the walls were so solid and united that not even a rat could get between them.

I planned to make my sister think that her room was haunted. Push her into insanity until she confessed where my coffee bag was hidden. I took some clear nylon threads and tied them to the objects in her room. I positioned myself behind the wall to manipulate them from there.

When night fell, I played a soundtrack of ghostly sounds on my phone. She woke up agitated and it was at that moment that I made the objects rise in front of her. I heard her moans of fright, as I taunted behind the wall.

"Chris..." I said in a spectral, sinister, deep voice. "You have taken something that doesn't belong to you, you must give it back right now or I will come every night until I take you with me."

"What the fuck...?" She gasped. "This can't be happening! I must be dreaming... Yes, that's it, this is just a dream!"

"I'll prove to you that you're not dreaming," I started banging hard right on the wall behind her. My sister gave a jump along with several piercing screams. She ran out of the room until she reached the kitchen.

I couldn't contain my laughter, but it was time to get out of there because if they didn't see me, they would suspect me. After a few minutes, I went down to the kitchen. I found my parents standing next to Chris; she was still pale with fear. In her hands, she held my coffee bag, looked me in the eyes, and stood up.

"Here, little brother, I'm so sorry I took it. Please forgive me, it won't happen again," I didn't say anything, I just acted surprised. I took my bag of coffee and then went back to my room to put it away. Days went by and Chris still couldn't get into her room. I think I went a little overboard, but, I must confess, I still think it's funny.
