Hahahahahaha… This picture was taken over 24 years ago, but it always reminds me of my turning point... how I made my first N1 million in 2004, just before my graduation from my first degree in Futo.

Growing up, even though my parents were poor, I always carried one bold mindset that “Money is in abundance. It’s everywhere, moving, flying around every second, every minute, every hour, every day.”

Now, if you look closely at that picture, you will see the liabilities I had in my student room back in 2002.

Some might call them assets, especially at the time, but anyone on the Billionaire Journey knows those were liabilities. Things that took money out of my pocket, not brought money in.

I had just finished reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, and the message started working on me. Then I met a friend named Alabara who gave me one of the biggest pushes of my life.

He cleverly tricked me into selling all my liabilities just to raise N30,000. Yes, I sold everything, including my famous big shoe back then called "Vagabond"

We were to use that money to buy a Pentium 1 computer, but how I raised the extra N60,000 to upgrade to a Pentium 3… that’s a story for another day.

That computer became my first asset.
Not just for watching movies or playing music...it became my first hard-working employee.

I began learning computer skills. I started solving problems for fellow students. That birthed my first venture: Project Printing Services in FUTO.

At the time, students would print one original copy of their project and photocopy the rest, ending up with faded, poorly formatted documents.
I changed the game by offering five clean, original printed copies for the same cost.

My room turned into a productive hub.
Students came to print, research, and hang out. I had Britannica and Encarta installed for extra project info. I even served cold soft drinks to my student clients then. Yes... you read that right.

I wasn't just printing, I was serving. And I was making money daily.

Eventually, I saved up to N1 million, but that high point? It was just the beginning of another difficult season.
Let’s save that for another day.

They say... It’s not always what you know, but who you know and who knows you.

That one friend Alabara, didn’t give me capital, but he gave me clarity. Successful people don’t just focus on the what or the how… they find their WHO.

Who knows how to multiply your efforts?

In that season, I lived by the wisdom of the Spider. Instead of chasing flying insects all day, the spider builds a web, and lets the work come to it.

That’s what assets do. They work 24/7.
They catch all the “flying money” while you are sleeping.

What liabilities are keeping you broke?
What assets are you building to catch opportunities while you rest?

¡Jajajajaja! Esta foto fue tomada hace más de 24 años, pero siempre me recuerda mi punto de inflexión… cómo hice mi primer millón de nairas en 2004, justo antes de graduarme de mi primera carrera en FUTO.

Al crecer, aunque mis padres eran pobres, siempre llevé una mentalidad audaz:
“El dinero es abundante. Está en todas partes, moviéndose, volando cada segundo, cada minuto, cada hora, cada día.”

Ahora, si miras de cerca esa foto, verás los pasivos que tenía en mi habitación de estudiante allá en 2002.

Algunos podrían llamarlos activos, especialmente en ese tiempo, pero cualquiera que esté en el camino hacia ser billonario sabe que esos eran pasivos. Cosas que sacaban dinero de mi bolsillo, no lo traían.

Acababa de leer Padre Rico, Padre Pobre, y el mensaje empezó a hacer efecto en mí. Luego conocí a un amigo llamado Alabara, quien me dio uno de los mayores empujes de mi vida.

Me engañó astutamente para que vendiera todos mis pasivos solo para reunir N30,000. Sí, vendí todo, incluyendo mi famoso zapato grande de entonces llamado “Vagabond”.
