Bartolo, como todos ustedes saben los que siguen las historias de este gatito, es muy curioso, travieso y muy peleador. Aunque también es muy protector de su territorio y de nosotros.

El otro día, mientras él estaba en el jardín, escuchó un ruido de pelea. Generalmente, se pelea con su hermano Indio, pero el sonido esta vez era mucho más fuerte, así que salí corriendo a ver qué sucedía y ahí vi a Bartolo peleando con todo contra un gato negro. Corrí a socorrerlo, pero Bartolo no lo dejaba escaparse al gato negro. Después de que se escapó, me llevó a Bartolo a mi habitación para chequear su estado y sí, tenía heridas en diferentes partes del cuerpo.

Bartolo, as all of you who follow this kitty's stories know, is very curious, mischievous, and a real fighter. Although he's also very protective of his territory and of us.

The other day, while he was in the garden, he heard the sound of a fight. Usually, he fights with his brother Indio, but the sound was much louder this time, so I ran out to see what was happening and there I saw Bartolo fighting with all his might against a black cat. I ran to help him, but Bartolo wouldn't let the black cat escape. After he escaped, I took Bartolo to my room to check on him, and yes, he had wounds on various parts of his body.

Al chequear el cuerpito de Bartolo, noté heridas en la cabeza y en una de sus patas. Le hice los primeros auxilios y desinfecté lo que pude, pero lamentablemente la ponzoña del gato negro estaba en la uña que penetró su piel y dejó algo en su brazo, cerca del pecho. Con el correr de los días noté que le costaba caminar y empecé a notar una hinchazón en esa zona del brazo. Me comencé a preocupar porque estaba cada día más rengo. Al otro día iba a llevarlo al veterinario sin falta, ya que era domingo y no había alguno cercano abierto.

When I checked Bartolo's little body, I noticed wounds on his head and one of his paws. I gave him first aid and disinfected what I could, but unfortunately, the black cat's venom was in the claw that had penetrated his skin and left some on his arm, near his chest. As the days went by, I noticed he was having difficulty walking, and I began to notice swelling in that area of ​​his arm. I began to worry because he was getting more lame every day. I was going to take him to the vet the next day without fail, since it was Sunday and there wasn't one nearby open.

Al llevarlo al veterinario, le hicieron una punción y le sacaron pus. Le pusieron unas vacunas y a la casa. Después de ello solo dormía y, por supuesto, arriba mío siempre. Cuando él dormía, le ponía la crema que me dio su médico para que sanara. Estaba preocupado porque a veces sangraba y salía más pus, pero me dijo que es normal que eso suceda hasta que supure todo lo que había dentro.

Luego de 10 días de cuidados intensivos, mucho amor y paciencia, Bartolo se recuperó totalmente y volvió a salir al jardín. Por suerte, esa fue la última vez que tuvo una pelea con otro gato. Espero que dure así durante muchísimo tiempo más, porque no soporto verlo enfermito, débil o mal. 😣

When I took him to the vet, they performed a puncture and extracted pus. They gave him some vaccines and then let him go home. After that, he just slept and, of course, was always on top of me. When he slept, I applied the cream his doctor gave me to help him heal. I was worried because he sometimes bled and more pus came out, but he told me it's normal for that to happen until everything inside him oozes out.

After 10 days of intensive care, lots of love, and patience, Bartolo made a full recovery and went back out into the garden. Luckily, that was the last time he had a fight with another cat. I hope it continues like this for a long time to come, because I can't stand seeing him sick, weak, or in bad shape. 😣
