President Lee Jae-myung said on the 25th, Christmas Day, "We will do our best to allow warm warmth and hope to permeate the daily lives of each and every citizen ahead of the New Year."

In a Christmas message released on his Facebook page, President Lee said, "It's a day every year, but I hope you feel greater happiness today," and added, "I hope you have a warm time with your loved ones by making eye contact and smiling."
"I think of Jesus Christ, who was born in the lowest and darkest place and shared his life with the suffering," he said. "His life will be the true meaning of Christmas that we should reflect on."
He added, "I pray with my hands that this Christmas will be a time to comfort someone, to rest for someone else, and to pass the courage to live tomorrow."
