Nutritious and healthy oats//Nutritiva y saludable Avena caliente
On a rainy and cold day I decided to make hot oatmeal although sometimes we can also have it cold at any time of the day.
It is a comforting and nutritious drink, which we serve as breakfast or dinner. Practical, simple, quick to make and inexpensive, it can be the perfect option to start the week with lots of energy.
For its preparation it does not require a lot of ingredients, so it is also an economical and healthy option full of flavors.
To prepare your hot drink you need the following.
INGREDIENTS AND UTENSILS:
- 2 cups of flaked oatmeal.
- 4 tablespoons of milk.
- 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- 2 cinnamon sticks.
- 3 cups of water.
- ½ cup of liquid vanilla.
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch.
- ½ teaspoon salt.
- Cinnamon powder for garnish.
- Blender.
- Spoon.
- Whisk.
- Saucepan.
PREPARATION STEPS:
-Place the two cups of water in a medium saucepan and turn the heat on high.
-After the water begins to boil, add the oats and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for five minutes.
-After five minutes, pour in the milk, cinnamon stick, sugar, salt and stir well. Continue cooking for five more minutes, stirring from time to time to prevent the oatmeal from sticking to the pan.
-Add the vanilla, with the cornstarch and stir until the cornstarch is dissolved.
-Cook, stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal is soft and has absorbed most of the liquid.
-Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 2-3 minutes.
-Serve in bowls, sprinkle with a little ground cinnamon and enjoy.

PASOS PARA LA PREPARACIÓN:
•Coloca las dos tazas de agua en una cacerola mediana y prende el fuego a alto.
•Luego de que el agua comienza a hervir, agregas la avena y reduce el fuego a medio. Cocina durante cinco minutos.
•Después de los cinco minutos, vierte la leche, el palito (rama) de canela, azúcar, sal y revuelve bien. Continúa cocinando por cinco minutos más, revolviendo de vez en cuando para evitar que la avena se adhiera a la cacerola.
•Le añade la vainilla, con la maicena y remover hasta disolver la misma.
•Cocina, revolviendo de vez en cuando, hasta que la avena esté suave y haya absorbido la mayor parte del líquido.
•Retira del fuego, cubre y deja reposar durante 2-3 minutos.
•Sirva en tazones, espolvorea con un poco de canela molida y disfrutala.
