Hoy me siento súper emocionada de compartir con ustedes la segunda parte de este gran tema "Muchacho Criollo" de la talentosa Mercedes Díaz. Para esta ocasión, nos mantenemos en la tonalidad de Do sostenido menor, un tono que le da ese sentimiento especial. Como ya saben, para mí es un honor contar con el respaldo del Maestro Ramón en el cuatro y mi Tío Víctor Morales en el arpa. Su ejecución es impecable y logra capturar esa esencia llanera que nos hace vibrar el corazón a todos.

Grabar estas sesiones siempre es un proceso lleno de aprendizaje y sobre todo de mucho respeto por nuestras hermosa música llanera que es la que nos caracteriza como venezolanos. Esta presentación es mi participación para el Hive Open Mic SEMANA 311. Me encanta ver cómo semana tras semana esta comunidad se llena de tanto talento y diversidad cultural. Para mí, la música no solo es técnica o notas en un papel, es una forma de conectar con ustedes, de mostrarles un pedacito de lo que soy y del orgullo que siento por nuestra música criolla.

Espero que disfruten de esta interpretación tanto como yo disfruté grabándola. De verdad, le pusimos mucho cariño para que el resultado fuera lo más auténtico posible. Today I’m so excited to share with you the second part of this wonderful song, “Muchacho Criollo,” by the talented Mercedes Díaz. For this version, we’re staying in the key of C-sharp minor, a key that gives it that special feeling. As you know, it’s an honor for me to have Maestro Ramón on the cuatro and my Uncle Víctor Morales on the harp. Their playing is impeccable and captures that essence of the plains that makes all our hearts sing.

Recording these sessions is always a process full of learning and, above all, deep respect for our beautiful plains music, which defines us as Venezuelans. This performance is my entry for Hive Open Mic WEEK 311. I love seeing how, week after week, this community is filled with so much talent and cultural diversity. For me, music isn’t just technique or notes on paper; it’s a way to connect with you, to show you a little piece of who I am and the pride I feel for our traditional music.

I hope you enjoy this performance as much as I enjoyed recording it. We really put a lot of love into it so the result would be as authentic as possible.
