En un partido emocionante hasta el último suspiro, la Italia de Gennaro Gattuso le ganó, sufriendo de lo lindo y con un gol en el agregado, a su similar de Israel, y tras conseguir 6 de 6 puntos, se pone provisionalmente en segunda posición de su grupo, eso sí, con un partido más que los israelíes, y solo a 3 puntos de los noruegos, que los aventajan gracias a la goleada en suelo nórdico hace un par de meses.
