A Nigerian artist Lade, in one of her songs said that “adulthood is a scam.” According to her, as soon as one leaves childhood, all the privileges attached stop coming.

You have to figure things out yourself, you start taking responsibility both for yourself and others. No one would give you money and free food anymore, you have to earn it.

Lade got it right there. Adulthood is a very difficult stage of life devoid of many things. Children enjoy a lot of things that adults don't. Let's keep aside gifts and free food as part of the entitlement that comes with being a child, one of the priceless things children also enjoy is genuine peace and happiness.

That is what makes that stage of life beautiful, if you are used to being around children you would understand what I am trying to say. But as adults I don't think happiness and peace is something common. From one thought to another. From solving one problem to another.

The mistake most people make is to see that period of life as the end instead of another battle to conquer on their way to the top.

Everyone has their season to shine, and whether we shine or not is completely up to us to decide. No one who ever quits because it's hard or not favorable ever ends up making it to the end.

So, if we fix our mindset concerning seeing moments of trials in life as the end for us and start seeing it as another test to pass for the greater good. A lot will change about us.

It hurts to see people perpetually sad, devoid of happiness because things are not working out. Isn't that an invitation for a potential high blood pressure?

Worrying and depriving yourself of happiness won't solve anything. In the end it might even make it worse.

One of the reasons why children enjoy peace and happiness is because they are ignorant of what is happening around them and I think it's something we must learn from them.

I am not saying we should fake being unaware of what is happening but we should stop putting problems over everything.

We are more aware of situations than we are aware of how to solve them. People know their problems but don't know what to do about it. Why? because they are so focused on the problems.

It is high time we take a thought about how we live. Happiness is free, and everyone is entitled to it. It is not for children or the rich or successful alone.

Regardless of our situations, we must never allow worries and anxieties overwhelm us. It may not be easy but we can still choose to be happy even in the midst of the trials while we keep finding solutions.

Happiness and peace. They are super weapons for living. If you make them a permanent part of your life, there is no situation in life that you will not be able to walk out of. Whether you win or lose, you will come out strong.
