Midnightletters prompt #19// what I do only when it's midnight
Hi hivers for me, at midnight everyone else is asleep. Everyone else is gone. And here I am controller in hand, lights low, screen glowing like it knows I belong here.
This is when I exist. Daytime? It’s chaos. Responsibilities. Noise. Rules. But right now? Right now, it’s just me, the game, and the rhythm of my own hands.
I make a move, then another. Fail, restart, try again. No one is judging. No one is watching. Just the pure, raw consequence of choice. Every level, every boss, every challenge it’s a test of me, and only me.
And somehow, in the quiet, I feel alive. Focused. Sharp. Like the world paused to let me prove something, to let me be exactly who I am when nothing else matters.
I don’t play to escape. I play to be present. To be precise. To be the version of myself that I don’t get to be in daylight. Midnight isn’t just a time, it’s my arena. My sanctuary. My proving ground.
And when the console finally powers down, when the screen goes black and the house is still, I feel it the quiet pride of knowing I showed up. Even if it was just me. Even if it was just a game.
