Phone Photography #96 - When the kitchen calls me[EN]//[ES]
When we think of an entrepreneur, we sometimes overlook details, such as the fact that we are the boss, employee, designer, marketing and social media manager, secretary, administrator, and cleaning staff, and that, with luck, we get paid and have free time for ourselves. So, I've had to resort to the tricks I used when I worked for someone else and had a schedule that didn't allow me to get home and prepare fresh food for breakfast and lunch. Thinking about that scenario and drawing on my experience, my weekends are divided between work and cooking, so I can get a head start on the cooking for the rest of the week, because sometimes, even though I work from home, I don't have time to prepare very elaborate meals.
So today, I'm sharing some shots of what my weekends in the kitchen are like, and I know many of you do the same. This helps us organize ourselves better and manage our time so we can better serve our guests, although sometimes I forget to defrost something or other, ha ha ha. This week, I'm preparing shredded chicken with vegetables and a pumpkin/squash cream soup, which my son loves. And I couldn't leave out an impromptu breakfast, since my son sometimes asks me for one, and many people tell me that I shouldn't indulge all his requests. However, I prefer to offer him something I know he will eat, rather than something he will leave on his plate and then go to waste. Another thing I take advantage of preparing are snacks. This way, I know what I am giving my son, and it is much cheaper in the end.

Cuando pensamos en un emprendedor, a veces obviamos detalles, como el hecho de que, somos, jefe, empleado, diseñador, encargado de marketing y redes sociales, secretaria, administrador y personal de limpieza, y que, con suerte, cobramos y tenemos tiempo libre para nosotros, por lo que, me ha tocado recurrir a los trucos que empleaba cuando trabajaba para otro y cumplía un horario que no me permitía llegar a casa preparando alimentos frescos para desayunos y almuerzos. Pensando en aquel panorama y aprovechando la experiencia, mis fines de semana se reparten entre el trabajo y la cocina, para adelantar un poco el trabajo de la cocina para el resto de la semana, pues en ocasiones, y aunque trabajo desde casa, no me rinde el tiempo para preparar comidas muy elaboradas.
Es así que, hoy les comparto algunas tomas de lo que son mis fines de semana en la cocina, y que sé, muchos hacen lo mismo, esto nos ayuda a organizarnos mejor y administrar nuestro tiempo, para atender mejor a nuestros comensales, aunque en ocasiones olvido sacar a descongelar una que otra cosa jajaja. Para esta semana estoy preparando pollo desmechado con vegetales y una crema de calabaza/auyama, que a mi hijo le encanta. Y no podría dejar de lado un desayuno improvisado, ya que en ocasiones mi hijo me lo pide así, y muchos me dicen que no debo complacer todas sus peticiones, sin embargo, prefiero ofrecerle algo que sé, va a comerlo, y no algo que me dejará en el plato y luego se perderá, otra de las cosas que aprovecho de preparar, son las meriendas, de esta manera sé que le estoy dando a mi hijo, y es mucho más económico al final de cuentas.
