My 2026 Spring arrives with a Hayleybug Silver Art Bar
My March 17th’s one and only snowfall came and went within 24 hours as the temperatures never dropping below 1⁰ C. I was somewhat concerned how my first blooms of the spring have weathered this surprise snow fall.

My Therapy for Depression: I love to get my hands dirty
I was a little anxious to prepare my gardens for the spring blooms. The damp cold and recent March 18th atmospheric river resulted in heavy rainfall kept me from making much progress in my garden for the better part of the week.
Over the few broken sunny days this week I can feel some of that depression lifted from my shoulders. I had to endure the nausea, pain and cold to get my hands dirty. I needed to do this even if the cold makes my hand-eye coordination slower. Parkinson's disease feels worse in the cold, I don't need the fine motor skills at this point.

The was mildly depressed since mid February. It was difficult for me to read most of the Ladies of Hive posts #276 as participants expressed their love to their best friends, parents, partners... Valentine’s day was practically Deb’s birthday, my late best friend for over 25 years is only a fond memory, I am almost done wrapping up her final taxes to the government and most of her effects were claimed or donated to the Salvation Army Thrift store.
Last fall I’ve added these short early bunching ‘Tete a Tete’ Daffodils among those taller ‘Mother and Daughter’ blend consisting of Whites and Poet daffodils expected later this spring. They have such a cheerful appearance that I’ve already had neighbors taking photos of them. I hope any of the few of Deb’s Daffodils come back. I simply added to what she planted before she got sick.

Among the sprouting Day lilies was the season’s first ladybug. By the time I came back with my phone camera it disappeared so I went back into the house for a stand-in ladybug while the weather was still clear. I can already see the incoming dark clouds bring in the expected rain that evening.

This Hayleybug silver bar is another one of the gifts from my late friend Danny, my noble Dragon collector. It is another reminder of his virtual presence over the last five years. I continue to leave messages and posting a photo or two on his Discord as if he still read them, until this year he'd always send me a Valentines message. So "Happy Valentine's Danny! I miss you" 💘

I’ve added the purple Snow crocus to the existing whites last fall hoping to get a nice tri-toned blend. The results are good with the purple ones that began blooming a good week before the whites appeared. I need to add a bit of bone meal soon. I wonder what happened to the softer violet crocus? I will plan to lift the corms a little earlier in late October.
For the tulip beds I’ve added a frilly deep violet variety called 'Black Parrot', and they will be several weeks away from full bloom. I can’t wait to see the results. 🌷
Well into March, next task due is trimming back my Queen Anne roses. Meanwhile happening indoors is that Christmas/Easter cactus I rescued from the Home Depot soon-to-be-compost destined stock has started blooming once again. This time with a hint hue of pink!

My Health Progress
I wish there is more progress. My medication has been increased to deal with the rigidity and more noticeable trembling on my right arm. I find myself fatigued up to almost half the day on bed rest for relief. I hate being so unproductive.
My Internal medicine specialist has referred me to a colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedure a few months down the line, though she thinks that there is a chance that my abdominal discomfort is a symptom that may be linked to Parkinson’s as there has been cases where the abdominal nerve endings becoming hyper-sensitized. A sort of opposite effect of Parkinson’s.
“O...kay. I don’t see the connection... 🤔 maybe the feelings needed somewhere else to go?”

My quest for healthier food choices continues with some record keeping, there’s more to life than organic brown rice, oatmeal and bananas. The only bright side to this is losing almost 3.5 kg weight over the last year.
Dietary Lesson of the month; Avoid foods with Fructose, period.
Trust me.
Question; Are there certain foods or dietary practice that a healthcare professional ordered you to avoid?
And finally thank you for coming aboard my blog today.☠️
